Alright well someone mentioned GW in the Runescape thread and I was wondering about it too. Is it true that it doesnt cost money per month? And is it any good? I loved WoW but got tired of it. So now im looking for something to do in my spare time. Would someone who liked WoW like GW?

Probably since WoW is such poor quality that nearly every other MMO surpases it in at least one aspect of gameplay or another.

So then WoW is a bad game for having a little bit for every one?

I don't hate WoW because it's popular, I hate WoW because I've played every single MMO on the face of the planet, and WoW was a fucking waste of money. I bought WoW and a 3 month game card, and I couldn't force myself to play into the 2nd month, so I cancelled and let the remaining 2 months die off. There are so many MMOs out there that are better in any aspect that you could possibly be looking for specifically, there's no reason to play WoW.
WoW's popularity is due to Blizzard's "good name", the longevity of the Warcraft series, and something called the "DOMINO EFFECT". When it comes down to it, WoW is a mediocre blend of all the other MMOs out there. Ask yourself what you REALLY want in an MMO, and then do the research and find an MMO that focuses on that type of gameplay.
However, if indeed you want a game that is overcrowded with stupid fucks and lacks distinction, WoW is the game for you. And in that case I encourage that you play it, so you don't ruin the other good MMOs for the people that currently enjoy them.
EDIT: I like how the guy with a black and blue bleeding devil eye Avatar is calling us e-goths (for not liking popular games), when my Avatar is of one of the most popular racing games ever... (I know I know, your icon is from NWN, but it's still more e-gothfag than anyone else here.)
All hail the age of hyper-industrial anti-gravity racing!
No matter what you're looking for, there's another MMO out there that does it better, whatever that may be (graphics, PvP, PvE, crafting, mass content, action style fights, turn based fights, storytelling, community, etc). Unless mediocrety suits you.

I saw that thread, thats where I got the idea to ask about this game. And what if one day I want PVP, another I want to PVE, another I want to just craft and trade and auction, and another I just want to talk to friends and help them quest? Some people dont play MMO's for one specific aspect.

Well if your taste in games lacks distinction, then the game you choose play would reflect that wouldn't it? This is congruent with what I was saying before.
I would rather have something that shines and has a purpose, instead of something that is ambiguous and tries to be too many things at once.
Would you rather have one Ferrari F50, or a twenty different $15k cars?

Meh, not that great of an example because all cars do the same thing, drive. All video games give you something to do. And personally I liked doing everything. If I played a game that was great for PvP and bad for other things it wouldnt give me as much to do. But different people have different ideas of what a game should be.

Obviously you aren't into cars. Maybe that wasn't the best example, as you said. Even if you want a good blend of different gameplay types, there are still MMOs out there that will have a better mix of what you really want. You just have to look.

I beta tested for wow, i can say its a great game. And no monthly fee last time i checked, just 50bux for buying it and thats it.
But i shy away from those games as they tend to suck ur life in..

WoW definately has a monthly fee.
GuildWars doesn't.
GuildWars feels more like a classic RPG (with an MMO twist) rather than an MMO though, because the game story actually ends (and then you have to buy the next GuildWars game)

rofl did i say WoW i ment to say guildwars, my mistake.
And anyway ive heard that guildwars scams u, by making it like 5$ per patch. And the game not working unless u have bought the newest patch. Not officially sure on this as its only what ive heard.

No, the patches are free.
They get you by making the game a linear story that actually ends. Then you have to buy the next installment...
For instance, GuildWars, and now GuildWars: Factions.
GW:F is not an expansion, and it doesn't interface with GW1 at all, it's an entirely seperate game that you pay another $50 for.

So is it kind of like Diablo in the sense that the story ends, but you still play it to level up and stuff?

Yea like you said above. I have the first one not the xp,and it got soo boring. You can go throught the whole game, till near the end with teh same armour. THere are only to types to pick from when you get tot he end. Relies to munch on monks, which my main guy was. I wouldent waste your money on it. You noyl get to lvl 20, then you still get stat points for a little and after that is maxed nothing.

I've found guild wars incredible.
This game is one of the best non-fps games graphically. The game have a great replayability: you have lots of thing to unlock (its not just about getting to level 20)
you're not obligated to wait for a team before going to a mission because you can get some henchmen. The story of Guild Wars is surprisingly compelling. The battle are base on skill not the weapon you have. the class are (almost) perfectly balanced. No montly fee.
What more do you want?

^Yes, there's PVP.
I played Guild Wars for half a year and it was awsome.

What I love about GW is that the game is very well balanced. There are no uber-weapons or uber-armor so everything is fair, which makes strategy and teamwork is crucial. You level up pretty quick and all the professions have different strengths and weaknesses. I think its a great game
