For the last few weeks, I wasn't able to get hooked to almost any kind of games, except for Soldier of Fortune 2.

But I did get hooked on some N64, GBA, SNES and PC games in the past month.

Games I have low interest in:

Grand Theft Auto type games -> It's way too repetitive, I do a couple of missions then I go do some stunts and kill people to get 6 cop stars and get bored.

Racing games -> Except if they are stunt games, like trackmania.

Sport games -> I just can't stand them, I prefer to play sports in real life than doing it on some video game.

Online RPGs -> It takes way too much time to get good.

Games I like:

Strategy -> Only if they are warcraft (not world of warcraft) or age of empires-like

Action RPG -> Zelda-like games (Secret of Mana on SNES was badass too), but I do like some RPGs (not final fantasy)

FPS (only on PC) -> Hell yeah! I adore those.

Summary:

I don't like games that require patience, I want some action filled FPS, Strategy or Action RPG (or some good RPG).

Preferably not too recent (my computer doesn't support much, example: I play Vice City on almost lowest settings to not lag).

So, what would be a good game for me?

I am playing Dungeon Siege 2 and it's really fun action RPG. Lot's of stuff to keep you busy for quite a while.

Beside's pc, what consoles do you have?

TRIBES 1 (Starsiege: TRIBES), possibly the best FPS ever and completely free to download and play.

I have tons of emulators (GBA, SNES, N64, NDS (doesn't work well), MAME, etc) but I also have an original N64 that I didn't play since 7 years. I don't like controls on consoles.

Does dungeon siege cost something?

Oh ok.

For SNES you should download Terranigma and Earthbound, both really fun RPG's.

I got Dungeon Seige 2 at Wal Mart for $20. It's one of the better action RPG's I have ever played.

Terrnigma was kickass. When I first downloaded it I got hooked up for a nice long time. Then I quit right before the last boss (no idea why).

About, Earthbound, I don't like the style...

Morrowind is basically the best RPG ever made, 1000x better than its sequal Oblivion, go play it.

May I ask your reasoning for that? I have Morrowind on PC (and I have a pretty balls-out PC) and I've tried to play it many occasions, but I just couldn't get into it. On the other hand, years later I picked up Oblivion for 360 and it sucked my ass in instantly. I tried to go back and check out Morrowind again and see what that was about with my newfound taste for Oblivion, but low and behold, I thought the same thing, "This is crap, why do so many people like it?".

Because Oblivion is way too easy, and way too open. There's really no incentive to do anything as the game levels up with you. Morrowind has objectives in each town, and from the Silt Strider paths, you can pretty much gauge where you're supposed to be at what level. I LIKE the fact that you need to be X level to do things, because it is theoretically possible to beat Oblivion at level 1, all you have to do is never rest in a bed. That's bullshit.

That doesn't seem right... There are plenty of enemies in Oblivion that I couldn't kill, which required me to level up to beat... Are you sure about that? Maybe some enemies do, but I don't think all of them do. Either way, I found Oblivion to be much more captivating.

When it comes out, immediately get Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. I was greatly entertained by Oblivion and this blows its combat system out of the fucking water. I like that taking the assassin route in it doesn't require that you have to do full-on combat (unless you're fighting low-level enemies, but the level scaling system in Oblivion makes sure that doesn't happen); if you can get it, a backstab is an instant kill (the other face-to-face combat methods require a few blows). There's also environmental kills up the wazoo. In the demo alone I killed orcs with breakable wooden platforms, a giant swinging bunch of wood planks, spike walls, and bottomless abysses.

The problem with the debate between Morrowind and Oblivion (neither I think the OP should get because neither are actually action-RPGs) is that Morrowind was amazingly cool when it came out, of course, all the Daggerfall players complained about it. But still, if you played it and loved it when it first came out you (at least in my opinion) like Oblivion as much and so have to hate it (or something like that).

But, for games to get: the Total War games maybe, the KOTOR games, Call of Duty maybe. Company of Heroes (when it comes out)

In Oblivion everything levels with you so you never have to worry about finding something strong and haveing to run which takes any tension out of the game and you can't get strong enough to become a god and kill everything. The items are also leveled so when you go through a deep dungeon you know that there's no chance of there being something really awesome in that last chest, you'll find the exact same thing you could find at the chest near the door from the dungeon. In Morrowind there were plenty of well hidden items that looked cool and were really strong.

Oblivion is a much bigger map but there's a lot less to explore, in Morrowind there were mountains, wastelands, grasslands, etc. while in Oblivion it's all grass with a few mountains that are 95% empty.

There's other things too but I haven't played Oblivion in a while so I can't remember them all.

Neverwinter Nights.

Single Player has alot of talking, but alot of action too.

Online is simple and easy to learn just ask someone nicely and you'll be on your way killing people in no time.

BF2 (battlefield 2) is a good game, soon to be patched to 1.4. Good maps, good use to SOME kits.

Oblivion sucked, this coming from a HARDCORE Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind addict. It sucked for the reason Psi said. The level scaling system was lame as could be.

Oblivion is much better than Morrowind. Although Morrowind is indeed a great game. Oblivion was voted Best RPG of 2005 at E3. From the ElderScrolls website:

Oblivion takes home the awards for Game of the Year, Best Role-Playing Game, and Best Graphics at G4's G-Phoria 2006 awards show.

Its an awesome game... pick it up.

God yes, I've been playing Earthbound recently. One of the funnest games I've ever played. It's such a funny and quirky game.

Did you know that there was another Earthbound game released for the GBA(Earthbound was actually a sequal to a japan only game called Mother) a couple of month's ago called Mother 3. I'll probably pick that game up after I finish Earthbound.

holy MOTHERFUCKING SHIT HOW COULD I FORGET Deus Ex?!?!?!?!?

that game will own you so hard your pants will fall off. its like a FPS, mixed with rpg elements and stuff. you can go through the game and kill exactly one person, or you can blow everything to smithereens. either way, it's the best game ever. and it will run on your computer.
