View Full Version : Starcraft 2? Diablo 3? Blizzard news.

Blizzard is working on 3 unannounced projects, with a major one coming in 2007. I (with millions of others) am hoping for Starcraft 2 like no other, but it could be a new game altogether. Looks like Starcraft:Ghost has been delayed for good, though.

It could be Warcraft 4 or a new game, but who knows. I think whatever Blizzard announces, it will be a good game.

I'm one of the few people who never played Starcraft. I am hoping for Diablo 3 though.

It will definetely be a sequel in the Starcraft series because Diablo 3 would hinder World of Warcraft's subscription base seeing as how Diablo 3 is almost like an MMO and it is free. Warcraft would also not be reasonable because they just made an MMO out of the series. Starcraft:GHOST was cancelled as a project so the only project left that is acceptable would be Starcraft seeing as how it hasn't been upgraded since 1997.

the original diablo was one of those game experiences that you wish you could have back like it was the first time again. if they make a diablo 3 even half as good as the original i will poop my pants.

yea, only the original diablo and half-life really had that impact on me. damn those were some good games, good times, good memories :)

That's only if Starcraft 2 offers as much as it's prodecessors, plus more. That's the only way a game could ever be better than it's original.

if they add more units, more races, more things to do, there going to have a fucking hard time balancing it out, and thats what made starcraft so good.

I was thinking that too, but then I noticed its been like 8 years since it came out. I surely hope Blizzard at least thought of some ideas or has something started. I think they could live up to the original Starcraft, but it would not be easy.

If Blizzard hopes to make Starcraft 2 any good, they have to keep all the races balanced, add a few more units, better graphics, new storyline and thats IT. If they change too much of anything, theyll fuck it up.

WC3 lived up to its predecessors. Blizzard is a good company, I don't see why they wouldn't make SC2 as good.

Hell for starcraft i'd be happy if they released another expansion pack just adding a new race, or more units, or new sctions of the already existing races. Just moved the story line further into the future and gave us all new options.

i've said this before since diablo 2 pretty much ended diablo and baal, i wanna see diablo 3 as u are A demon and you have to fight the good guys. end boss could be tyreal or something. I dunno but that sounds like a cool twist

WC3 was not a good RTS. Sure somepeople liked it, however alot of people didnt like it, aka its not what a rts should be.

A RTS doesn't have to be popular to be good, or "what an RTS should be". Anyway, as much as I used to hope for a Diablo III, it's not a must for me any more. Knights of the Old Republic III on the other hand...

hated warcraft 3, the heros concept turned the whole thing off for me. They better not fuck around and make heros u can play in normal melee games for SC2(assuming they make sc2)

WC3 was not a good RTS. Sure somepeople liked it, however alot of people didnt like it, aka its not what a rts should be.

The strategy aspect was micromanaging troops and bases, I hate that, so I'll agree with you there. A good RTS would be more like Rome: Total War or something. Massive troop movements, strategic positioning, etc. Warcraft 3 is good game overall, the editor is what makes it shine.

no 3d, no heroes, no shop, no upkeep ..... 2D, better graphics, clear vision of what happen on battlefield, mass expand possibility, mass units possibility and good music .. everything that makes playing starcraft a ART

I liked how wc3 was because of the custom games. But for the melee/ladder games, I didn't like heros. They were way too powerful. Fucking Blademasters...
