yo guys, I have a question about my car.
It's a 1993 Eagle Talon 16 valve, dual overhead cam, and it's an automatic.
My question is, Whenever I JUST start my car and start to accelerate, there's a horrible squeal coming from one of my belts. Does anyone know what belt it is and how to fix it?

Open the hood, feel which belt is loose, and tighten it lol. Maybe you have a serpentine belt (1 belt wraps around it all). Push down on it, and if it gives alot, tighten it. On an alternator, you can loosen the top bracket by loosening the nut, place a wrench in between the alternator and a close object to act as a lever to pull towards you to get the belt tight, and have someone tighten the bolt as you hold it stiff.

yes, and in many cases the water-pump uses the same belt, so the tightening of the belt is highly recommended! (so it won´t burn in half...)
just remember not to tighten it too much, or the bearing (word?) of the generator will not survive very long...
oh, and til then, u can just shut off all electrical stuff in your car when "just started". that is, turn off lamps, radio, etc. since this will minimize the resistance in the generator, thus slowly recharging the batteries. then, after a while, turn all on again.

also check for any cracks etc... replace the shit if after tighting it doesn't help.. it'll be like 12 to 30 bills

well, no go.
I replaced the belts (both of em) and it still squeals.
I'm starting to think that it is either
a) the water pump
b) power steering
which one do you guys think is the little bitch?

Are you sure it's a belt squeel? Check the fluid level of your ps.

I could be a pulley seizing up... check em.. if it's more of a scrapping sound it could be your water pump really to take a dump.

i bet it's the power steering, cept it wouldn't make noise unless you actually used the wheel...
so if ur going straight and it's squeeling, i think you can rule that one out

I know those motors are very prone to crank walk check to see if your crank pully is moving in and out when you push the gas
