I read the tutorial on making soundboards here, and I can make one simple enough IF there is no text. Once I add text instead of having the hand appear when I go over a button I get the typing cursor:banghead:
Ive tried more than 1 tutorial, using the lasso tool, not using it. Preferrably I would like having just the text as the button instead of having the rectangle buttons with text on top but please explain both ways.
PLEASE HELP:wah:

This might help.It took me about a day to figure out how to make a simple one layer button. This info is for Macromedia Flash 8.
1.Make a box with the rectangle tool.
2.Click on the box with the selection tool and then F8.
3.Choose Button for Type: then Registration:pick the middle box ,OK
4.Now delete it from the stage area and not the library.
5.Goto library and rename Symbol 1 (Duplicate Only). This will be used to make all your same size buttons.
6.Click on File\Import to Library\Import the sound that you want.
7.Right click on (Duplicate Only) and then duplicate it.Duplicate Symbol window will come up and make shure its set to Button then OK.
8.You should see (Duplicate Only)copy in the library.
9.Rename it to what ever you want.If the sound is Hello\then rename the button in the library to Hello2.
10.With the selection tool drag and drop the Hello2 button into the stage.
11.Double click it and one more click with the selection tool (V) so it looks like a checker board then F6 to Down. You will see Up\Over\Down\Hit above the stage.
12.Drag and drop your Hello sound into the button.
13.Double click on stage and then one more click.
14.Test it.Name your Button on the Stage after you have test it.
Now every time you want to make a button with a sound just follow steps 6-14. Just dont mess up and drag and drop the (Duplicate Only Button) on to the stage.
To make a Stop all sounds Button you need to duplicate the (Duplicate Only)button, choose Button.
Drag it to stage and click on it then click Window\Behaviors.You will now see the Action & Behaviors window.Click Behaviors then the + and pick Sound\Stop all Sound.A window will come up saying This Behavior stops all sounds,Click OK.
Click,(On Release) then the little arrow and pick (On Key Press).A window comes up saying (Execute when this Key is).Hit Space Key and you will see <space>,OK.Now you have a stop all sounds button.Have fun!
