Ambient isn't all that bad. Just kinda cool to put it on in the background, and you don't even realize it's there, but you can. I throw on an Aphex Twin album, and don't even really realize it's there, because it's so subtle. But, a lot of it's just garbage.

For me, I hate noise, grindcore, and pretty much any genre with 'core' as a suffix. I'll try to give anything a chance, but some stuff is just plain trash.

I don't usually like to write off an entire genre of music, as I'm not really a genre Nazi, and I often find that I like one or two bands that are considered to belong to one particular genre that I don't have much interest in.
Punk, for example, doesn't do much for me, but I like The Damned, The Clash & Television.
Rap/Hip Hop also holds very little interest for me too, but I like Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Hijack and De La Soul.

Looking through my music collection, I find that I have no Country & Western. I have zero interest in this genre, and the music does nothing for me. So yeah, C&W is my least favourite genre of music.

My favourite bands are bands like Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.. But I think the majority of metal just plain sucks. Actually, the majority of any genre sucks balls. I like a few selected bands from each genre, apart from emo or somethin gay like "blues". One guy wrote a riff for blues and everyone else uses it in every song they've ever written. Listen to it and you'll know what I mean.

And you also offended the definition of screaming. Corey Taylor can't scream properly. He is good at singing however, in his other band Stone Sour. They're actually good.

Disco was responsible in large part for ushering in the sounds and ground work for Rap and House sounds… without disco breaking away from the 4 piece garage style band it’s said that the Hip Hop/ Rap and House may never have taken root… not to mention the flurry of non-disco groups that made disco sounding recordings Pink Floyd, KISS and so one… (opps I named dropped and used examples)
