This music forum that i wana comment on, so allow me to share some of my favourite music with you.

Ryuichi Sakamoto. Amazing Japanese piano player, not so much for his technical ability but for the pure feel of his playing. I dont expect you to understand if your not a musician.

Obviously as a bass player, gotta have a bit of wooten. Me and my friend were baffled by how he seems to slide a harmonic on that decending harmonic run (3.01 in the video). Again this guys feel is so spon on, man. Couldn't find a video of More Love, download that if you can.

My favourite Beatles song.

The Beatles - Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

John Frusciante's probably my favourite guitarist, mainly in the chili peppers, his solo stuffs too shit/weird for me to get into. Here he is covering How Deep is your Love, and prooving even the best of us fuck up sometimes.

Here's him doing it properly.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbPB7F4skdY

On the subject of the Chili Peppers, here's Californication as performed at Slaine Castle, my personal favourite (taped) performance of it. Flea and John together just fuck each other musicly and what is ejaculated is awesome. Probably one of the most simple guitar parts ever (verse wise atleast), but so atospheric and beautiful. Have a look.

Any one who knows music knows Brian Wilson. Everyone who knows Brian Wilson knows God Only Knows. Best chord progression, best lyrics, vocal arangement is amazing. Heres the beach boys doing it no justice what so ever, i urge you to buy pet sounds to hear the studio version.

I'm not usually a fan of dance music but Daft Punk do some amazing things, technologicly and musicly, a delicate balance a lot of people don't understand. This is probably my favourite, excellent use of a vocoder triggered by a guitar.

Ill end on probably my favourite band of the 90's, Oasis. The first album i remember hearing was one of theirs in my parents car, they're English of course, i fuckin loved Liam Gallaghers attitude, Noels a fuckin legendary song writer, the best since Lennon, no 2 songs are even remotely similar yet they have such a distinct style, mostly characterised by Liams voice. When this band cared 10 years ago, they were the fucking dogs bollocks. Heres live forever and the master plan acoustic, shows the strength of the songs in their raw form. Harmonica on the master plan is amazing (Mark Feltham)

I urge you to give his solo stuff another go. Niandra Ladies & Usually Just a T-Shirt is fairly experimental and slightly psychedelic, but you might find that a bit weird. I love it though.

I think he has some beautiful solo work - especially songs likes Ramparts and Murderers.

Holy shit, someone mentions Ryuichi Sakamoto on this forum. YMO and solo are marvels of modern electronica/classical music. Truely the soundtrack master.

Totally.

Seen this?
