So i'm pumped because our wr corps has massive depth now with all solid players, I just don't know if it was worth a first round. I guess if you figure Seahawks will most likely do good their first round wont be worth much(25-32) then maybe it doesn't sound so bad. But all together he looks like a solid receiver that just hasn't been able to pull together a big break out year.

Good Trade? yay or nay

Thoughts on Branch?

Branch is an average reciever who has had an above average QB make him shine.

I would not mind him on my team, but ot for a first round pick.

The Seachickens have good recievers already, no need to give up a first round pick for another average one.

However, if one goes down, this could be a decent trade for them. We'll see, its a long season yet.

I said yes. Seahawks first round pick will range around the 17-21 around there in my opinion. Branch is a pretty good receiver so I think it was a good trade for them.

Damn I just figured out I was spelling his name wrong and was going to edit it but it looks like someone already pointed that out.

The Seahawks don't have great receivers by any means. Darrell Jackson is the best one on the team, and he's very inconsistent. Nate Burleson isn't by any means an established receiver, people are just waiting for him to break out. Branch will be able to fill Jurevicius' role from last year perfectly: a possession receiver. Whereas he doesn't have the size, he's very dependable, and I would say he's the most talented WR Seattle has.

With the way the Seahawks have been drafting over the years, it's definitely worth it to give up their 1st for Branch. Also, drafts are too hit and miss, with this trade, you know exactly what you get.

Yay for Seattle. Nay for New England.

Seattle - Needed help in the Wide Receiver Dept

New England - That first round pick might as well be a second round pick.

Branch wouldn't play for them, and no one else would give them a first round pick. It's called making the best out of a bad situation.

I think he will be a much better player than Jurevicius was for them. As for the low first round pick, that's a little more than what he's worth, but in that offense, he will probably make it look like an even deal.

the seahawks would have drafted a wideout in the first round if they hadnt got a reciever earlier so this way they know exactly what there getting and know that hes proven himself

and tha patriots will get a very low 1st round pick in the process

seahawks win in the trade by adressing there biggest need(big play reciever)

Receivers usually take too long to develop.. 3 years and we've seen a lot of busts such as Charles Rogers (not yet Mike Williams).. the guys in Atlanta are sucking. It is probably much better that they traded it. I hate the pats how they do things.. I just wish they only got a 2nd rounder out of it..
