What up Vex, im in need of some advice. I just purchased an 03 honda civic EX, and i am looking to buy a new exhaust system for my car, i was wondering what would sound the best and give me the most horsepower.

sorry you're gunna have to ask jdm, I'm not sure what exhaust would sound best on a civic. Just remember this one thing, you need some back pressure. If you run a really open exhaust, you risk burning up your motor. However, if you have a turbo on there, then zero backpressure is needed and will actually help.

My best advice, get a few good names of companies from people on some civic forums, go out to some car shows, races, or meets of any car type, and ask around. Most people are friendly enough to tell you all about their parts; where they got them, how much, what were they looking at before they picked that exhaust, stuff like that. And then listen to a few different types and pick the one that you like best. No exhaust setup is going to give you a 50hp increase.

Make sure you at least get a header and full exhaust. It's pricey but sounds the best.

edit: oh yeah, name brands are great. I only know a few exhaust companies. Corsa, B&B, and Borla are great.

lemme tell ya one thing "brutha" maybe a super tricked out civic could beat a stock camaro but if you supe up a cuda or a mustang or any muscle car it will blow your god damn civic off the road.
