Pete Rose, thoughts, comments?

Here's the problem I always had with Rose that no one ever seemed to bring up. He admitted to gambling on baseball and I believe he admitted even gambling on the Reds. He claims to have never bet against the Reds, which would really hurt his chances of ever getting reinstated, but I don't think that matters. Unless he placed the same wager on every single Reds game, selectively betting ON the Reds, to me, is the same as betting AGAINST them. One day he puts $5,000 on the Reds to win and the next day he doesn't, sounds shitty to me.

The guy's an asshole. He fucked up, he got caught, he got banned. End of story, they shouldn't even be talking about letting his ass in the hall. In this case, rules are not made to be broken. If you let him in, then shit, let shoeless joe in. Let everybody else who's banned in.

As a former Cincinnatian, I could care less about Pete. I'm glad he got caught and that his career is over. Not to mention his son has been in some hot water lately himself.
