Ive seen Vex and a few others posting a lot of vids of Vettes and other V8 Muscle. Now its my turn. :D

Britsh Company TVR, based at a seaside resort called blackpool make some killer motors.

The UK's Vette equivalent and Vette killer is the 4.5 Cerbera (pic) (http://weaky.uk.free.fr/galeries/x_angleterre/tvr/Cerbera_45_01.jpg). Used ones start at about $48,000
Some spec as always..

4475 cc V8 N/A
420BHP @ 6750rpm
0-60 @ 3.9
0-100 @ 8.3
195mph top end.
Weight 1100 kg / 2425 lbs.

It lighter than the vette by a fair amount and produces more bhp from a smaller engine. Good ol Brits. :D

Plenty of other TVRs around faster ones to, but the Cerbera is my fav car in the world without counting the Ferrari F40 which i know ill never be able to afford.

Some tuned Cerberas are around not many tho.

The Cerbera Speed 12 (pic) (http://members.tripod.com/~bigsword/cars/speed12.jpg), never officially released deemed to dangerous for public use. With enough cash and begging you can get TVR to build you one. Apparently the thing is insane to drive.
8000cc V12
BHP, 740-1000, the dyno couldnt handle the torque.
0-60 TVR estimate is 3.5, Topgear got 3secs dead.
Weight 1000 kg / 2205 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Top speed, est 240+ I dont think anyone has the balls to try it.

Quote "I knew within 300 yards that it was a silly idea.Over 900bhp in a car weighing just over a ton is plainly ridiculous on the road. It doesnt matter what gear you are in ,you just couldnt get to use the power"
"If someone comes to us and still wants to buy one I can usually talk them out of it,given time" ;)

A company called Carisma did a one off Cerbera 4.5 (Pic) (http://www.newlook.fr/attitude/mecanique/diapo_carisma/carisma_head.jpg)

Looks a bit ricey but 0-60 comes in 3.1 and 200+mph takes it out of the rice braket..lol

Now im gonna shut up about TVR's for a while coz i need to go and relive my self after watching these.

Speed 12 (http://www.sleepy-fish.com/images/videos/TVRs/Speed12_Clarkson.mpg) (this is old, before real performence was realised)
Cerbera 4.5 (http://www.sleepy-fish.com/images/videos/TVRs/Cerbera_speed_6_1.mpg) (Guy driving it is a bit of a nutter..lmao)

Ps, gimmi some feedback on what you think about TVR.

Good post! I've heard these cars are as common in UK as Texas Corvettes over here in the US. Is that true?

Pretty much so. If you walk round manchester city centre you will prolly see at least 5 TVR's in a day. So yea, their pretty common.
You mainly see Speed 6's, Griffiths, Cerbera's and to a lesser extent the Tuscan S, still a supprisingly common 200mph super car :)
There is nothing imo that sounds better than a TVR V8 engine. :D

I agree, TVRs are really good and usually underestimated. Look best in pearlescent paint (blue/green). (http://www.iweb.btinternet.co.uk/cars/tuscan.jpg) Only prob with them is reliablity. My friend used to have one and he barely got to drive it because it was in getting fixed all the time.

Ive heard reliabity, used to be a big issue with TVR. Not sure about later (post 1994) are like. The 6 cylininder in the Speed 6 is constantly being bitched about because of problems. TVR should go back to that monster V8 tbh.

More info of the Speed 6 and Tuscan S engine probs. (http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=97554&f=5&h=0)

However. A simaler engine is used in the T440R and its flawless.
Some spec on the T440R
4200cc IL6
Bhp @ 440
0-60 @ 3.9
Top end 215mph!
(Pic) (http://www.1-18thmodelcars.co.uk/Motor%20Show/TVR_Tuscan_440R_head_on.JPG)

And!!! The TVR Typhoon (T550R) is under development
Same engine as the T440R but with a big ass supercharger, as if it wasnt fast enough. Gotta be seeing at least 230mph out of that thing.

Tvr is aright. I don't like the spider lights. The car could go on a slight diet but with 420hp it's well enough to leave alone. How's the car on gas? I assume since its a v8 prolly 20mpg or less.

Also, I'm sorry bro, but the 'Martin get's my vote.

Yea most TVR's get about 20mpg from the 6 cylinders and the V8's which a fuckin bad considering fuel prices are $10 a gallon here.

Aston Martin is another leauge all together price wise anyway, performance is simaler.
