In the story, Giambi is quoted telling Rodriguez, "We're all rooting for you and we're behind you 100 percent, but you've got to get the big hit."

Rodriguez, according to Giambi's SI quotes, responded, "What do you mean? I've had five hits in Boston."

Giambi retorted, "You [freaking] call those hits? You had two [freaking] dinkers to rightfield and a ball that bounced over the third baseman. Look at how many pitches you missed.

"When you hit three, four or five [in the order], you have to get the big hits, especially if they're going to walk Bobby [Abreu] and me. I'll help you out until you get going. I'll look to drive in runs when they pitch around me, go after that 3-and-1 pitch that might be a ball. But if they're going to walk Bobby and me, you're going to have to be the guy."

This is what I was expressing on my bashing of A-rod articles that with Giambi and Abreu being walked Alex is the man who needed to come through. There's no real harm here it just shows how much Giambi cares.

Giambi said last night, "What I remember is being in Boston and telling Alex that we really needed him, that if we were going to win the World Series we needed him."

We all know if Alex doesn't hit in October we will exit early. Again no knocking just the truth.

The only bad part here is this:

"Reggie hit .230 one year," Rodriguez told SI. "That's awful. He struck out 170-something times in a year. I don't care who you are, extremes are just part of the game. I was awful [in Anaheim], but Jeter was 0 for 32 [in 2004], Mo blew three games in one week [last year] ... Everybody goes through it.

"Mussina doesn't get hammered at all," Rodriguez said. "He's making a boatload of money. Giambi's making [$20.4 million], which is fine and dandy, but it seems those guys get a pass. When people write [bad things] about me, I don't know if it's [because] I'm good-looking, I'm biracial, I make the most money, I play on the most popular team ... "
A-rod is pissing me off talking like that he plays like shit and says well look at other players. He doesn't deserve what he is making and talking shit isn't going to make him look better.

Jason shouldn't be talking. His OPS has dropped over 200 points since the all-star break.

A-Rod is not a bad guy. People are jealous of the $252 million contract.

If that's the way the fans see it, that's pretty stupid. Their whole roster is full of overpriced players.

Exactly, Giambi shouldn say shit.

Arod has him covered in almost every category that matters.

HR (in a down year only has 2 less than him), more RBI, more SB, high BA by 30 points, OBP not that much lower than him (especially for a guy who is a walk machine in giambi), giambi doesnt even field that often.

Plus, giambi was in his own shit for a while.

Im not sure if i beleive this article too. Its way too unprofessional.

It would be nice to get them to all play for free….. but I don’t think they are not interested in it.

Maybe they should spend less on players and more on scouting. They wouldn't have near this high of a pay roll if they actually payed players what they were worth.

Yea, but not as many people are willing to pay as mcuh to see a pitching prospect as they are to seeing a roster full of hall of famers.

pay-rod should have never left seattle, that was when he was reaching his prime and then he took the fat contract and ran

a-rod deserves all the chritisism(sp?) he gets when he has like 3 errors in one game and has these huge slumps and doesnt live up to expectations

Im actually taking Arods side on this.

Let's see.

Mike Mussina, and Jason Giambi.

Or Alex Rodriguez.

I know he isn't having a brilliant year, but he's still the 3rd best hitter active right now (behind Bonds and Pujols). People are jealous of him making money. But everyone on the Yankees gets overpaid, thats why Steinbrenner freaks out every 2 weeks.

As much as I hate arod normally, people need to stop shoveling shit on his name.

But I do have an issue with one thing....

Nigga Please, you are not good looking.

Oh, and since before the season, I had the Yankees over the Dodgers in the WS. I dont want that to happen, but it prolly will.

And btw every team pretty much sucks besides the Phillies (welll, the A's are pretty badass too.)
