He played amazing for the little ice-time he got. An assist about 2 minutes into the game and some amazing moves. But at the start of the 2nd period "Malkin had just finished making a dazzling pass to LeClair when the veteran winger, after missing a great scoring chance, crashed into the boards behind the net and took out Malkin in the process. The Russian catapulted over LeClair and landed hard on the ice." Looked like he fucking broke his neck when it first happened. Not much info is known yet, but I don't think there were any serious injuries..a broken arm at most. Shit like this only happens to Pittsburgh..

I couldnt believe it. I was watching the game, kid looked amazing, then that happens, felt just a shot in the chest, I hope to god it's nothing serious.

He's got a dislocated shoulder and is questionable for the pens first season game.
Edit: We won with THIBAULT in goal. That's hard.

No shit, Thibault used to be good, I dont know what happened to him.
That's great news about Malkin, questionable for the game opener is fine with me. He can miss the first few games, I want him at 100% to go into battle.

A dislocated shoulder is pretty bad. I dislocated my shoulder in football, then six times after that.

way to go leclair. :rollseyes
malkin had to go through so much shit to get to the NHL, has so much skill and potential to be a top 5 player, and then boom first preseason game he is down. sucks just hope it is nothing too serious but a dislocated shoulder is sort of iffy.

i hope people dont catogerize malkin in the same league as ovechkin and crosby, malkin is really good but those 2 are on a level above him, regardless of age

Evgeni Malkin: To Get Second Opinion on Shoulder - 9/23/2006 7:53:55 AM
Update:
Malkin will get a second opinion on the extent of damage to his left shoulder within the next week. A decision will then be made as to whether the 20-year-old center needs surgery, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Recommendation:
Without surgery, Malkin would likely miss 2-6 weeks. If an operation is necessary, then he could be out for a minimum of three months and perhaps the entire season.
Lol, poor bastard.
