Shaun Alexander, who has been having a down year although still a great back, has a crack in his foot and will be out around 4 weeks.
This is bad news for any of his fantasy owners. Plus, this "curse" is still going, which is pretty crazy.

my team is screwed.
then again, it's not like he was putting up superhuman numbers to begin with...
but still

this "curse" is just a stupid coincidence, plenty of other non madden cover players have gotten hurt, but since they didnt have a tag on them it doesnt matter
and maurice morris is very fast and can share the loads with mack strong, seahawks will be perfectly fine

Name 2 people from 2000 up on the cover who played close to as good as they did last year. You cant. Madden curse is for real, alexander was doing shitty and now hes hurt.. hmm coincidence?
Snowy
09-25-2006, 07:12 PM
look at the super bowl loser curse u dumbasses, which team is 3-0? SEAHAWKS, everyone called that a "curse" but that was obviously a coincidence... just like the madden cover curse
and john madden was on the cover for like 10 years and hes making hella bank

09-25-2006, 07:13 PM
so who should i get - morris, strong, betts or michael turner?
poopchow
09-25-2006, 07:16 PM
morris probably, if hes the definitive #2
Snowy
09-25-2006, 07:16 PM
mack strong will get more runs and so will mo morris, but ull just end up dropping them in a couple weeks so it doesnt even really matter, ide go with michael turner/betts
but dont drop shaun alexander to get them because hell be back probably after the bye week (week 5 is seahawks bye)

i'm not dropping alexander :p just need another back.
right now my backup is barlow. i think i'll get rid of him to get turner, since sd just had their bye week and the jets are playing indi, not to mention barlow might not be 100% healthy

lol the one where he slips cause of like a banana peel and then the espn phone thingy says he gets hurt in an off the field accident like 2 secs after it happened

09-25-2006, 07:24 PM
Aaaahaha, called that shit.
Anyway, how is he hurt? I know he's averaging below 3 yards per game (another part of the Madden jinx), but now he's hurt?
Aaaahaha, notice Snowy is the only one skeptical, how surprising.

How much time will he split with Fred Taylor you think? I have him on my team and dont want him getting bitched out of points.

They said it could take up to 6 weeks, so that could be week 8 or 9.
Also, how many carries you think morris will get compared to mack strong. I just picked up mo hoping he will get at least 15-20 carries a game now.
I wouldnt go with turner at all as he is only used in garbage time. Betts is a nice pickup but he will be very very hit or miss.

im skeptical because theres no such thing as curses/ghosts/ufo's and shit like that, mearly coincidences and people high as a kite and hallucinating...
have u also noticed that the guys on the cover are quarterbacks and runningbacks (and ray lewis) who are all in positions who take serious beatings? having 300 pound linemen run into and fall on you isnt a fun thing, nor is getting a fullback crunched into your chest in ray lewis's case...
edit: mo morris will get atleast 20 or so carries a game and mack strong will probably get like 5 more a game...

I dont think its a curse, but i love how the evidence keeps on piling on there is one.
I mean, when you have Mcnabb miss 1/2 the season when he really hasnt missed any considerable time in his whole career, thats wierd.
And Shaun had played in like 5 straight seasons all 16 games, so for that to happen is also strange.
Curse? I dont think so, but its just funny how it keeps happening.

IDK, probably a pretty good bit because it seems to keep them both healthly /not tired when they switch. But you seen what he did yesterday? That was only the first half. We stopped running after halftime.
But seeing as how he ran for 105 yards on 13 runs? Imagine if he gets more chances. He will probably average over 110 yards for at least another 8 games.
Snowy
09-25-2006, 07:37 PM
well it doesnt help when 300 pound linemen fall on your feet and break them, also the positions the cover guys play are more suseptible to injury, you dont see like champ baily or walter jones or adam vinateri on even tho there all really well known

Ahahaha, ohhh clever trying to change the subject there. Dont attack my team because your guy was victim to the curse, it's not their fault, it just makes you look worse. It's not called overrated when every expert picked the Bengals or Ravens to win the division :dunce: but thanks again for talking out of your ass and trying to shoo away from the subject.

more signs of you cant think of anything else to say when u say im in denial
maybe the superbowl loser curse will reverse itself and itll now be the superbowl winner curse now since the steelers suck this year and the seahawks are much better than they were last year....
and once again the madden curse is just a stupid coincidence and this weaksauce broken foot wont even make a difference so it doesnt matter
btw shaun alexander had a sore foot leading into the game so he wasnt at 100% anyway...

Oh, and a new different approach "Just because he cant repeat last year doenst mean he's slumping".
When says "slump", he's meaning averaging 2.8 yards a carry with 187 yards. I know it might be hard but quit acting like an idiot, you know what he meant. No one said anything about last years stats.

well if u cant get the ball because a defender is on top of u when the quarterback is getting hit ur not doing very good, on the other hand if your not doing good because u have a broken bone in your foot thats a different story
and IMO reggie bush is WAY more overrated, alexander has proven himself dumbass

Agreed, last year i wouldve taken 3 or even a few more backs over him, he just had a great line. Same to an extent with LJ.

How could you say that? Bush has done nothing to live down his expectations his frist three games. Alexander has proven himself, indeed, with one great season. You'd expect another pro bowl year after the MVP, wouldn't you??

alexander has had more then 1 great season genius, the year before he got 1496 yards and like 20 touchdowns, hes had like 5-6 STRAIT seasons on 15+ touchdowns.... i hardly call that being overrated considering hes the ONLY player to EVER do that....

1. It's only Week 4 so that curse might not strike yet.
2. The Madden curse has already struck.
3. Curses can be broken, but the Madden curse has not.

and do you honestly believe that with the schedule/division the seahawks are in that they wont win the division with ease?

The madden curses consists of - injuries (no matter what they are or how long they're out), poor performances, or bad season. It's struck, get your head out of the gutter and smell the smelling salt.
The madden curse has done its deed, now onto the 2007 season.

The Seahawks can do what they please, fact is Alexander is injured, he'll be out for a few weeks, that's part of the Madden curse.
And it's not just me, ever since this curse started it's always been injuries, bad performances, of bad season, this isnt something I just made up.

bad performances happen when u get hurt, getting hurt is part of the game, taking hits over like 7 years causes injuries, i think its safe to say that any player whose played a position that takes hits on a day to day basis will get injured... shaun alexander got hurt last year too....

The curse is lame for teh following reasons;
The only reason a player gets to be on there is if they are MEGA GOOD that previous season. So it's basically impossible to do better the next season, and when they do worse it qualifies as a "curse," so it's kinda of retarded... But it's still a curse.

I would agree with that but Michael Vick has been on the cover...therefore that's unaccurate.

michael vick was put on because he was "the next big thing" so they thought theyd be ahead of the game, it wouldnt suprise me if they had reggie bush on the cover of 08 because he's so "exciting"....

Is there a curse? I don't know, but there is a streak. Alexander will be hurt for a few weeks, and for the first three weeks, he's done nothing that's expected of Alexander. He's going to miss a good chunk of the season and have his worst year of his career as a starter.
The Super Bowl thing isn't a curse though, it's a coincidence. Just look at the Bills four straight Super Bowl losses, they lost but were still good enough to get back next year. This would be like saying the Heisman winner will be from USC because they've won the last two. All the losing teams haven't done badly, so it's not a curse.
But the Madden cover? Every single player on it has been hurt and or played way below their expectations for their career, not just the year before. It could be a coincidence as well, but it has yet to be disproven.

The curse is a bunch of bull shit. Is it not bound to happen that a player that takes hit after hit gets injured???? Yes. So why is it so hard to beleive that it is just a coincidence (sp) that players get hurt?/? What if Steve Smith would have made the cover? He's hurt and then you would have still called it the madden curse. Its a bunch of bored newbs making stuff up.
