Method of Recording/Playing Pranks?

I called people using soundboards for the first time today (and it is my new hobby! hehe) well, anyways...I just put my phone on speakerphone, put it up to the computer speakers, and stick a mic in the middle of the two. Well, the sound on the files (which i will post later) sounds great, but the people im pranking cant hear from the speakers very well. So, i was wondering: is there a better way to do it? Thanks!

you gotta get the speakers as close to the mic on the speakerphone as you can and then turn up the volume A LOT

the mic on the speakerphone is usually a tiny hole near the front

The closer to the speakers & the louder the speakers, the more mumbly the sound was. If i turned it down, it was too quite. Thanks, anyways, but im asking how else can i do this?

If you have any money try the teletool thing in my sig, or try a soundboard from AndrewB,it has a higher sound quality
