View Full Version : Jags @ Skins game of the year (so far)

Indy and stuff was nice but most people knew Indy would win.

How about the skins though.

Up down up down... it was fucking nuts too as it was there.

Jags were predicted to win by just about everyone and they were considered major SB contenders. Everyone talked about how they only got 14 pts allowed by the Colts.. but then the Mark Brunell led offense torched them with 36.

That game was a rollercoaster from the Brunell pick to the Moss TD to end the game, to the review they had to have to confirm it.

High scoring yet some good D was played especially by the skins allowing 16 yards by Fred Taylor.

Big offensive plays, big defensive stops, last second big plays.... everything you could ever want in a game.

Nooo way. Just because it went to overtime doesnt make it the game of the year.

Jets were high underdogs going into the game with the Colts. Manning showed his great regular season skills and the Jets never gave up. There was a kick return TD for 103 yards and a VERY exciting last play. Jags/Skins we know have good defenses and they didnt show up today, it was an even match-up.

But this game was definitely top 5 of the year, Colts @ Jets is still the best.

Redskin fans always embelish everything.

"Jags were predicted to win by just about everyone..."
"The worlds against the Redskins."
"Norv Turner blew the Raiders vs. Giants game on purpose so the Skins wouldn't win the division."

I know that's bullshit to say "everyone was picking the Jags".

There's no way this game was better than the Colts/Jets. Everyone thought the Colts would win, and guess what, I guarentee most people thought they would lose come their last offensive drive in the game.

And I bet a bunch of people were on the edge of their seats on that final Jets play.

Although i figured Indy would win, i thought it would be a very close game, not exactly sure why, but the Jets are a different team and Mangini (sp) knows how to beat the colts.

Google Jacksonville week 4 predictions and see what comes up..

The Jets are not a different team. They are basically the same team only with Pennington, STILL, no one gave them a chance to win, I know there are experts out there that had Washington..

Comparing Washington to Jacksonville to the Jets to the Colts is just ridiculous.

Eh...alot of people predicting the jags to roll over the skins. Before this game, skins didn't have much to show on paper, including the pre season. Nobody would have thought the skins would put 36 points up on the board against the Jags D. Amazing and shocking game to say the least.

Jets/Colts was a good game, but who won? Colts. If Jets were to win it, then I'd go with that game.

Jags/Redskins is the best game so far. The ending in OT was amazing.

But the fact of the matter is the Jets/Colts game was going back and forth, something no one expected.

Preseason doesnt mean dick so dont even bring that up.

Just because they scored a lot of points doesnt make it the better game. That only means that both defenses didnt show up, while the entire Jets/Colts team showed up, including special teams.

After reading your post in the bold, your not thinking. Preseason is very important on helps detirmine on which players are being productive and what players are not. The preseason has reflected on the Skins. Which means that the preseason does mean a lot. Skins looked like shit in the preseason and looked like shit in there first two games. If you watch the skins (or even watch football), you would know what the hell I'm talking about.

Scored a lot of points? That wasn't what I'm talking about. Skins piss poor Offense putting up some amazing numbers against the jags? That's amazing to me. Don't give this "D didn't show up that day" crap. Skins upset Jags and a Overtime thriller.

Yeah sure, Colts almost got defeated. Key word "Amost" as in, it did not happen! The game turned out what was what many have predicted and that's "Another victory for the Colts." The ending of the Skins/Jags game was a lot of more appealing than the ending of the Colts/Jets game.

Stop kidding yourself, AFC fan boy.

Colts went 0-5 last year and went 13-3 in the regular season. The Raiders went 4-1 in the preseason. The preseason is here for a few reasons. To get some playing time with your starters or unproven starters, to see which guys you want to keep, to see which guys are competing for different positions, the win or loss column OR players statistics doesnt mean anything in preseason (as far as your sure starters). Roethlisberger had a horrible preseason last year and played awesome in the regular season/playoffs. Dont be pulling that "if you watch football" bullshit on me, use that on some putz Seattle fan that comes on here just to complain about the refs.

I'm an "AFC fanboy?", hm, arent the Jags in the AFC? That's what I thought, were they involved in that game? And just so you know, I like the Skins more than the Colts AND Jets both together. It's obvious you're showing you're a HOMER and NFC fanboy from your comments, dont feed that shit to me without having the same shit thrown back at you.

And dont be bitching at me because I didnt think your Redskin game was better than the Colts/Jets.

The Skins "upset" the Jags, haha. Whatever man, that whole "we're the cheap ass underdog team that beat a quality team" bullshit doesnt work. The Skins clearly have a good offense but Brunell was questionable for a while and we all know they have one of the best defenses in the NFC...dont feed us that underdog bullshit.

Your avoiding this. You pulled the homer since you started posting in this thread by saying the colts/jets was a better game. Sounds homerish to me.
You failed by attempting to turn this into a pre season debate and dodging the real reason of this debate. The games itself.

As for you being called an AFC fan boy, I will still stand by that. Nothing wrong with being a AFC fan boy. Sure, AFC may be a lower budget market, but it is nothing to try to cover up. I've read enough of your posts to have a fair judgment. I could go further into this and leave you clueless. But I'll let you keep your dignity for now.
As for me, NFC fan boy? When it comes to super bowls, I always pull for the NFC team to win. So I guess that makes me a fan boy.

Preseason does mean shit for the redskins. When it comes to 1st string. Like I said, you don't know what your talking about when it comes to the Redskins.

Do you know the definition of a HOMER? Obviously not, all I can do is laugh at that stupid statement. Oh I turned this into a preseason talk? You were the one that used that as an EXCUSE to why the Skins were "so bad and the HUUUGE underdog".

Haha, I have nothing against NFC or AFC teams....if it were 2 NFC teams that had the EXACT same game with 1 average team and 1 dynamite team..it would still be game of the year...and I still dont think you know the Jags....ARE IN THE AFC. And considering A LOT of people on this board liked the Jets/Colts game more than the Skins/Jags games, are they "AFC fanboys"? Haha, now it's the "dude I'm owning you man, I could leave you more clueless", when really you're just talking out of your ass at this point. Advice for you kid, if you're going to get upset because I liked another game better, and if you're going to make up excuses as to why I DID like that game better? Atleast make it something productive and a little better than "You're an AFC fanboy", since considering the other team playing in the Skin game...was from the AFC, but wait you dont need to go any further, you're leaving me "clueless" because you're so witty.

You know you've lost by saying "I'm owning you man". That sounded weak. Do not call me kid, I'm older than you. I'm 23, your 21. Get a hold of yourself man, your acting like a jerk. I don't think you are a jerk, but your acting like it in this debate. I'm in disbelief on how you are taking this debate. Your turning this into a flame war. I wasn't. I was trying to stay on the subject, you were not.

I was trying to get answers from you as to why you thought the colts/jets game was better, you gave me a poor reason and name called me. You tend to side with AFC teams on anything which is fine by me. However, you won't admit it. That's the problem. But this is going off subject.

As for you saying I was upset? I wasn't at first, but now I am a little fustrated trying to get through to you. If anybody is more upset, it would be the both of us. Don't lie to me "kiddo", it is obvious. You need to chill out. Your going a bit too far off the subject. I'm going off the subject myself. Let's stay in bounds nextime.

atreyu_2020, at least you aren't acting like seansean.

You forget to mention the fact that the Jags defense was complete shit that game. Any other week we would have won. It was a great game though, on both sides.

Maybe the pass D, but the run D i think was all on the skins.

You cant run up the middle with you guys. Thats just a fact. So, we just swung it to the outside. Great for 2 reasons. 1, CP wont have to lower shoulder as much. 2, your d on the outside isnt as good as up the middle.

We stop the run on all sides, but having 3 big games back to back to back on the road and one being a Monday night football game had everyone tired. right, it is easier to run on the sides agaisnt the Jags but it's never that easy, the D just didn't show up and when they don't show up no matter how good the offense does you're probably gonna loose.

I'm not usually one to blame the refs because these things usually even out in the long run, but you gotta admit they were a big help to the skins in that game. They showed complete incompitence in reviewing plays by calling that a fumble near the end of the half so the Redskins were able to drive and get a field goal. In a game that went to overtime it's hard to argue that didn't have a major impact.

That being said, props to you guys for playing a good game (on the offensive side of the ball at least). You put up big points on a good D. This makes the NFC East a little more interesting. I hope you lose to the Giants though.

I liked the Colts game mainly because I'm a Colts fan, but it was cool basically seeing Peyton have two game winning drives.

I do think the Jags-Skins game was more exciting though, and that last play was a thing of beauty. And just so everyone knows, I'm not saying this because I wanted the Jags to lose, that doesn't matter to me.
