View Full Version : My Power Rankings after Week 4

1. Chicago Bears
There's no doubt in my mind the Chicago Bears are the best team in the league right now. It's actually frightening they have a deep threat in that offense and a QB that's probably pissed off for being ridiculed his whole NFL career. And the defense is just sick...sick.:ohnoes:
2. Indianapolis Colts
The offense is something to be reckoned with and they have a pretty good front 7 on defense. Even if they kept it close with the Jets they have beaten some top named teams, and the running game is finally coming along a bit.
3. Baltimore Ravens
The last victim in the Marty Bowl, way to blow it Marty. Anyway there really is no where else to put this team. The offense still looks very suspect but the defense is solid. Bart Scott is the runner for DPOY.
4. New England Patriots
They're back... :rollseyes Goddamn Brady for being the best quarterback in the league. This guy is making everyone around him look good, it's just INSANE. And Maroney had some pretty nice moves over the weekend. The defense handled Palmer and the gang pretty well so you have to give them some "props".
5. Atlanta Falcons
If they werent caught up in the whole Superdowm fiesta they'd probably be ranked higher. Regardless Vick is still the worst passer in the league, but the defense looks good and when the backup to Warrick Dunn gets 100+ yards that's saying something.
6. Cincinnati Bengals
They got banged up pretty badly against New England, their corners were finally exposed and the run defense still looks bad. But when you have an offense like that there's no need to have a top 5 defense, they're still a top contender.
7. San Diego Chargers
They still have one of the best defenses in the league and Rivers looked alright against a top quality defense but not good enough.
8. Philadelphia Eagles
McNabb looked good against the Pack (Yeah I know not saying much, but he's looked good in EVERY game), 4-0 is where this team should be, but still the win last night was impressive with all the injuries they had, and all the turnovers from Buckhalter.
9. Seattle Seahawks
After that beatdown they dropped down a bit. There's no need to keep them out of the top 10 though because of this loss. They are still a good team with an impressive win over the Giants.
10. Carolina Panthers
Steve Smith is a madman, he's in for another big year I'm sure if he stays healthy. This is a different team with Smith, and with a win over the 3-0 Saints it gets them into the top 10.
Bottom 5
1. Oakland Raiders
2. Tennessee Titans
3. Detroit Lions
4. Green Bay Packers
5. Cleveland Browns

I'm not going to bother making a top ten, but I agree that the Bears are the best team. If Grossman stays healthy, they'll be in the Super Bowl.
I'm not sure which AFC team looks the best. The Ravens look good, and if McNair and the offense improve, they'll be great. The Chargers are probably the most talented team, but do they have the experience needed? The Patriots finally had an impressive game, but will they keep it up? The Colts can't keep giving up that many rushing yards. Are all the off the field problems starting to catch up with the Bengals?
I have a feeling that an AFC team will win the Super Bowl, but right now I don't think I would pick any team over the Bears.

Do you even watch the nfl? Vikings are doing great this year
Chargers should be 5, if you think the bengals have been playing better them then theres something wrong with you. And the fact that they outplayed the ravens.
And i would definatley put dallas and jacksonville in there. Dont even say im a homer for saying dallas, 3 people on espn all picked them either 4 or 5 on the fab five

Chargers have played nothing but scrubs. Except for Baltimore, there schedule has been easy shit.
Dallas hasn't beaten anyone yet either. Jags are good but are on the downfall atm.
And espn sucks.

I wont argue that the Bears are the best in the league. However, so far this year, Grossman has escaped injury as he is prone. If he stays healthy, the Bears should do nicely. Even if he does again get hurt, they have the defense to carry them to the big game.
I also like the Ravens. They compare almost as equals to the Bears. I think a Bear, Raven superbowl could be one of the great games in NFL history. I have not looked at their schedule to see if they meet each other this year however.
Dallas could sneak up and bite you in the ass this year, watch out for them.
The Redskins and Eagles will be in the cowboys sights.
Seattle is starting to show weakness. They need Alexander back. My team, The Rams are improving in offense, but what happedned to their defense Sunday? Still I think Seattle will take the NFC west.
But don't forget about New England and Indy. They will both be strong contenders.

2. Jacksonville Jaguars
Have been in a little slump latly but the offense has finally started to show up. The defence will be back next week for a big win. Defiently Superbowl contenders.
3. Indianapolis Colts
The offense is something to be reckoned with and they have a pretty good front 7 on defense. Even if they kept it close with the Jets they have beaten some top named teams, and the running game is finally coming along a bit.

1. Indy
Sure, the defense isnt doing its job all that well, but Indy is finding new ways everyweek to win a game. Last week it was a special teams TD and this week it was a 2 minute drive that ended in a Peyton RUSHING Td. They are being challenged and are succeeding. Also, they are missing a few guys on D, so once they come back, it will be another story.
2. Chicago
Who would have thought they would put over 20 points in this many games, or even 30? Rex seems to be the real deal and the defense is still playing strong. The only knock i have on them is their weak schedual which may give them too much of a swagger and could lead to a postseason loss similar to last year.
3. Ravens
This doesnt have to do so much with their offense, as it does their defense. Im wasnt 100% sold on them coming into this week as they had beaten the lowly bucs, browns, and oakland, but after beating a strong and improving Chargers team, i think they are allowed to be in the top 3. Offense still improving too.
4. New England
Whenever anyone doubts them for a second, they come right back. This time they did it with a two headed monster called Dillon and Maroney. Their offense is starting to click and thats without using their stud TE Ben watson that much. Defense is still solid and they should not be underestimated.
5. Chargers
Almost beat a top 3 team on the road with a "rookie" QB? That means they are pretty good. The offense will only get better and they got a guy named LT in the backfield. Sure, they beat up on Tenn and Oak, but Sean Merriman is anchoring the D very well.
6. Bengals
Ya they got handled, but after big wins teams can often stumble. They have some problems on D, but even when their offense has been human, they have been doing well. Rudi is killing defenses and guys are standing out in Housh and Chris Henry while chad is being very regular.
7. Seattle
Same with the bengals. They got destroyed, but with 4 great WRs, they can do just about anything in the air and even if the MVP is 1/2 as good as he was last year, they should be in the leaders of the NFC.
8. Carolina
Steve Smith. Even when everyone knows hes going to get the ball, they still cant cover him. The Defense is playing better although still not playing up to their potential. The offense is clicking and deshaun/deangelo are looking to be a good tandem in Carolina.
9. Falcons
Proving once again that you dont need a QB to win a game, just not lose it. Vick is using his legs the way he should and losing duckett hasnt looked to have phased them. Dunn keeps doing a great job even though he has fizzled last few weeks. Maybe defenses will wise up to their tactics, but until then atl should stay in the top 10.
10. Redskins
The offense and mark brunell is finally clicking putting up 31 and 36 on houston (not that hard) but then jacksonville, a potential superbowl team. Clinton is looking great again and is scoring often and early in the season unlike the last few. Brunell still has some concerns, but as long as he is protected, he is fine. The offense seems to be tailored around him and its finally working. The 2ndary obviously has some big concerns with no peirson or springs, but shawn should be back within 2 weeks. Also, the dline showed up for the first time all year making 4 sacks.
quick run through
11. NYG (too good to be this bad)
12. Jacksonville (tough loss but still same team)
13.Denver (still can run)
14. Philly (needs to actually beat someone good)
15. Pitt (ben and hines will get it together, D still looking good)
16. Dallas (hard to find a spot 1-14)
17. NO (brees looking great and spreading the ball around)
18. Minn (slacking off last few weeks, but almost beat a great Chi team)
19. Jets (talk about close call)
20. St. Louis (playing well)
21. KC (LJ)
22. Buffalo (losman not lookin that bad)
23. San Fran (gore, bryant, and smith all looking good)
24. Miami (last chance for them not to fall into the crapper)
25. Green Bay (gave a good fight against philly and favre seems to be back)
26. Cleveland (Edwards, winslow, decent defense)
27. Detroit (kitna and roy good combo)
28. Tampa (defense is still there)
29. Arz (offense ok even with matt)
30. Houston (got a win against someone, and offense is great)
31. Tennessee (nothing really going for them, but at least they want to win)
32. Oakland (by default)

Why are dallas and philly that high? Im pretty sure that most people are debating between the nfc east with mainly dallas and philly, but you put the redskins and giants ahead of them.. Even the steelers who havent done shit yet are ahead of them, yes redskins did beat jags but dallas demolished the skins yet they are 6 spots higher

Because philly has not beaten anyone good so far.
Dallas looked great against Tennessee, but they are Ten. 45 is amazing on anybody, but i dont know yet. Plus, the skins looked like a completely different team right now, i wonder who would win if they faced each other now.
NYG still has an insane offense and the team should get better. They lost to the best team int he standings last year and best team in the NFC. Plus the ended up to being very close.
If they lose this week, they will take a big fall.
Skins have the most upside right now and are showing it. If they play badly this week, they will go way down just like the giants

It doesn't matter who philly plays, they will be competitive with any team as long as their heathly, god forbid our second stringers play. Bad flash backs from last year still worry me at night. The Eagles will still be a playoff team wheather they win the Division or not which I think they will, the only team that I think that will take the division if not the Eagles is Dallas. I see a 12-4 or a 13-3 season record this year. IMO.

I don't think the Giants or the skins are at the top right now, but I don't think anyone has a clear hold of the division, yet. Anything can happen.
Well, then i guess they were wrong last year. But not this year
And ya, eli is playing better but he still isnt close to his brother, he still makes alot of bad decisions
And as of now if it werent for the jags game the skins would obviously be out, and the eagles outplayed the giants badly and luckily they lost but still, eagles showed that they are better as of now i think. Your right, anything can happen
I dont know about the skins, they can be really good if brunell plays like he did against the jags, but hes not consistent so until he is i dont think they should be ranked higher then the boys or the eagles. And giants did play really good against the colts, but getting beat pretty bad by the seahawks (only won by 12 but they were up by like 35) who definatley arent the best team in the nfc like you said, the bears are alot better then them and i would bet on dallas or the eagles or maybe even the skins if they played seahawks

I'd switch Tampa with Houston. David Carr is finally showing people promise, and he is living up to it.though,I think not even Reggie Bush could save that offense.

Chicago can suck my balls... They aren't gonna do more than what they've done so far.
What they've done so far is alot better than what your team has done :raiseeyeb

Well considering it's all opinion, who really gives a shit. You can basically rank any top team right now except for the Bears and Indy ahead of another top 10 team and the list will still look good.
