Actually though, as the guy above said, this is a giant escavator, I believe it was in Germany, and they had to move it cross country to another site, it was either spend a gazillion dollars breaking it down piece by piece and moving it, or move it all as one unit straight line to the new site, for merely a zillion dollars haha.

i see what you mean, but Ford couldn't really risk/afford a specific performance coupe though. They take the four door and modify it extensively. Plus, GT is italian for grand tourer isn't it? a four door is okay as a GT for me.
besides, iirc the GTHO had something like 400hp and was the fastest four door car in the world at the time - 0-60 was around 5 seconds and top speed was 160mph, which for the '70's is quite good :)
the modern Falcon GT's are also four doors :)

We never had Falcon GT's, but we had Fairlane GTs, all of which were 2 doors and a good portion of them were big block 4 speed cars. I think all Falcon Sprints over here are 2 door also. I guess style won out over practicallity here.

well, the US is simply a much larger market, so manufacturers can experiment a little more and have more cash for R&D. Here they have to make a good product they know will sell and compete against the jap and euro imports, because if they don't and they lose their market share their position here will be badly damaged. it may mean the line-up can get monotonous and difficult to differentiate, but it keeps costs down while catering for most of the market.
that being said, holden has a long history of making V8 coupes like the monaro and the torana (1170kg coupe with a V8...) :)

Its not a matter of how powerful the car is, its a matter of how stable it is at such speeds. Without the limiter, the Veyron wouldnt have a problem exceeding 252, but the lack of stability could (and probably would) be fatal. If I recall correctly, they had to limit it at 252 because of the wheels, which, when put under the centrifugal force at 252 mph, were just too weak. If this was the problem, they should spend their money on wheels that can handle the 20 mph jump, and strengthen the engine afterwards.
