Hey guys, I was just wondering if there are any MMORPG online games that are FREE. I guess something like Diablo would be cool, with items and skills and different characters and stuff. Anything out there? Thanks.
Maybe not really what you're after, but check out Pardus.

I am trying the little 50 mb download of Knight Online. The big isn't available for downloading right now. Will I still be able to play online and stuff with the little one?

Guildwars. You do have to buy the game, but there's no monthly fee. The game's generally hit or miss with people though (obviously).
First, if you love the monotonous grinding of MMORPG's, than you won't get that with GW. Sorry bud, but there's little to no grinding in this game. In fact, when you're actually going for experience, you never really notice it. I've taken quests for the xp reward, and ended up forgetting that's why I originally took the quest a little ways into it. Lame.
Second, you know that set of armor you were wearing a week ago? Unfortuanately, you are able to get it again later without gimping yourself. So if you really like how a particular outfit looks, yep, that's right, the stupid developers allow you to use it after maxing your levels with no penalty for style.
Third, if you're level seventeen going up against a pack of level eight's, it's quite likely they'll take you down. What? Strength in numbers? I know, lame. Regardless of how many there are, someone more than twice their level should wade through them. I mean, let's be realistic here, a level three thug's bullets would simply bounce off of a level thirteen cop.
Fourth, those skills that are so common in MMO's? Well, in GW, you can have all of the skills you are willing to go and get. Nope, the team decided that a cap on the number of your skills was a bad idea. Instead, they allow you to have all the skills associated with your class you can get, and limit you to using eight at a time. What kinda MMORPG actually allows you to do everything you want, but limit the actual current functionality so you have to plan for the future and think tactically?
And a final major flaw with Guildwars... If you've been playing for a week, and decide you don't like the build you've chosen with your warrior... Guess what? Yep, that's right, the game doesn't force you to restart your character to change the stats. In fact, the stupid system allows you to rebuild your character whenever your in a town or outpost without penalty. Moronic! If I've put twenty hours into a character only to find out that the stats I've assigned are generally useless, I WANT to be punished by being forced to trash the character and spending another twenty hours to fix what I've done!
All sarcasm aside, guildwars is a fantastic game. Sure, it's not everyone's cup of tea. Some people think being able to hit level seventy-five by spending a year playing with one character is great. Personally, I prefer to enjoy the gameplay instead of little numbers by my character's face on a popup window. If you enjoy maxing out your level after hours of tedium, than having nothing to do, Guildwars isn't for you.
If you instead enjoy being challenged, thinking ahead, and playing as a team. Than finding that hitting the level cap just means that you're beginning to learn the ropes. Well, you're obviously a moron and should be playing a piece of crap game like Guildwars.

What are you talking about? Guildwars? I obviously hate the game. Didn't you read my post?
Now the repititious nature of Runescape, that's fun!

Anarchy Online.
First time I played it, I played for about 20 hours straight, I shit you not. I got to about lvl 60. After 2 weeks, I got sick of it and never played it again. Fuck that game.

If you like Diablo, Guild war's is great, an advanced diablo clone. If your looking for more of a MMORPG that is free, try Anarchy Online, best one out that is free. It is quite overwhelming and complicated, so good luck. Lemme know if ya download it and i'll offer you some help.

Gah, I'm a dumbass, I forgot a great one. Tribes RPG mod.
Now, it's not really an MMO per say, but it can definitely feel like one, and the best part, each server has it's usual players, so you tend to get to know everyone pretty well.
Starsiege: Tribes should be easy to find and download. It's 100% free now. Patch that up to date, and download the TRPG mod Here (http://www.planettribes.com/rpg/downloads/).
There's various script packs that help out a ton, but I couldn't tell you where to get those off the bat.
Sure, the game's dated, graphically terrible, but it's loads of fun.

They're usually the best anyway :)

Eternal Lands
this is a more grown-up version of Runescape. There is much to do just like runescape but the graphics are prettier and more cozy. If you don't like the childish nature of many Runescape players then you will like this. It's more character development involved i think, and the players are much much more mature and have a good attitude towards eachother.
May take a while to download since you run it from your own computer..
anyway, i love this one, but dont play it since i play WoW.

It's free until level 20. After that it's $10 a month...you could just keep making level 20 characters until you decide not to be so fucking cheap.

Well, since it's technically not an MMO, I guess you're right. But I definitely logged more hours on TRPG than any MMO out there.

Horrible game. Incredibly boring as well. The only redeeming factor of the game is that billposters look cool. I was happy when I wasted time getting my billposter to 76 then realizing how much they suck compared to other classes.

I'm also curious as to whether Nightfall is just an expansion or if it is an enitirely different game.

I've never really played any MMORPGs, but my mate used to sell Runescape money for money in real life.
I'm thinking that might be a good idea. Maybe I could make some money in spare time at uni? I wouldn't be able to commit to a part time job, due to lectures and assignments being erratically scheduled. But selling MMORPG money could be done on my own terms.

I recently found one called Goonzu. It's a 2d mmo, Korean?..
So far it's pretty cool. There's definitely a grind to it (it's an MMO isn't it?), but it focuses very strongly on crafting. Once you get to level 10, which doesn't take long at all, things start to get interesting.
