What's wrong with it?
Its like BF2 with a L-5 mech and a titan gunship not much different really.
It's just my feeling from the game, by all means don't stop from playing because I think it's just ok.

Yeah I played in the beta - it's almost identical to BF2, I'm not going to buy it. Yeah, flying the new aircraft is kinda cool, but I'm not going to buy the game for that. The mechs are just like tanks, and titan mode just turns into a mess - it's only fun fighting inside the ship.
Definitely not worth $50 if you already have BF2.

The problem with the Battlefield series is that it has limited gameplay. There is only one mode of play and it sometimes isn't very fun. What they need is capture the objective, or some kind of mission playing field. Battlefield 2142 could easily incorperate missions into its game.

Thats how the Battlefield series is, it's just reskin after reskin. If they wanted to, EA could release a new game every month, and gamers will eat.it.up.

It really isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Although the graphics engine is the same, I get about 40 fps lower than I did with BF2. The titan mode really isn't that bad either. It reminds me of Star Wars Battlefront.
The only thing that annoys me about the battlefield series is that the helicopters get easier to fly each time. In BFV it took a little bit of skill to learn how to fly them, then they got dumbed down in BF2, and now they fly like a brick with hover jets. As soon as you let go of the stick, the transports stay perfectly still in mid air. You can also fly them into the ground at 200 mph, and as long as you land on the belly, it doesn't get damaged at all.
And for anyone experiencing crashes, turn off VOIP in the audio options. It got rid of all my crashes. Apparently, this should be fixed in the final release.

Funny thing is, I always go in the top turret of Armour, another clan member of mine is the tank specialist. :wave:

It felt like I was playing BF2 all over again, I had more fun fucking around on the game though than actually playing. Disabling newbs in their helicopters and watch them get out to see wtf is wrong is hilarious.

Most tanks and and turrets come with a special missle you fire with the right-mouse button that shoots some kind of electric field projectile and disables vehicles/aircrafts for 5-10 seconds.

I found Desert combat .7 more entertaining than BF2 and 2142 combined...
Titan mode entertained me for about an hour and a half then I quit.

And that's what made bf 1942 so great.
Hell, I'm almost thinking of reinstalling '42 and getting the desert combat mod because to be honest, I think its better than bf2.

im stuck between buying star wars empires at war : corruption
and battlefield 2142 (the unlocks are just awesome) i mean its liike an mmorpg and the Titan modes are fun
as for the star wars EAW game, its one of the best strategies ever, and you this time you can have land and space battles at the same time, and as usual the battles look cool in movie mode :cool: and o yea the maps r bigger now, and more planets and creatures etc with new ships
so im fucking stuck

Agreed on the helicopter problem. It annoys me so much that they've dumbed them down, just to cater for people who can't be bothered learning helicopter skills. Nowadays you can fly a helicopter for a while, go get a coffee and it'll still be there. :(
Anyway, I haven't tried BF2142 but my friend has, and he says it isn't that amazing. That's good news for me, because I don't want people to change from BF2 servers to BF2142 - as that would make it harder to find a good online game (I don't want to buy 2142).

Ill stay away from it and stick with BF2. I was ready to restart playing BF2 a few days ago, but first server I went on I was the ONLY SQUAD out of 20 players. Fuck I hate that.

I'm glad someone sees it my way. I couldn't stand BF2, but Desert Combat was excellent.

I prefer DC as well. But unfortunately, there are no DC servers in NZ, so I have to play BF2. I hated BF2 at first, but I like it now.
I still hate getting artillery bombed every 10 seconds and the autohover feature.
