View Full Version : Is it worth it for a 360?

I plan on grabbing one on wednesday, but i'm still comtemplating on whether to get it or not.

I'm not getting a Wii because I have 3 friends that are all getting that, so I can play Wii whenever I want.

And it seems like nearly all Ps3 titles are porting to the 360 as well. 360 keeping Halo and Ps3 keeping DMC/FF... really doesn't warrant another $200.


So what I'm really asking is if the current titles on the market are going to be worth the money i'm going to spend?(also really looking forward to Assassin's Creed)

Or should I just blow it on other entertainment?

i got EB to knock $70 off th eprice off my 360, so far i think it's worth it, especially with how well online play is integrated (Test Drive Unlimited). ATM my favourite game (i haven't got many) is GRAW because of the four player co-op.

Seeing as I have no way to play-test the games, then how could I form a precise opinion you dumbfuck?

This is the closest I can get to an actual input, ask the 360 owners.

The games are garbage, perfect dark zero is alright but its not that good. Dead rising gets boring after a while.... Theres more games but I didint like them that much. I'd say wait.

November is the month for xbox 360. Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, and Tony Hawks Project 8 are all coming out in the middle of November. Plus Splinter Cell: Double Agent is coming out October 17th so that will be awesome as well.

Those games all suck dick, wait for 2007 and get Mass Effect, Assasin's Creed and Bioshock. If you already have a 360, get Dead Rising.

Well i got my xbox 360 for free :) (won it) But i think it is worth the money seeing the games that will be coming out. If you get one be sure to pick up saints row, its amazing.

Thats funny, Dead Rising gets old fast. People who have playtested GoW and RSV are saying they are great games. You cant say they suck dick if you've never played them.

I would recomend getting the 360, but then again, it all depends on the games you plan on getting. I have heared of some good ones coming out in the near future, but I have not looked up anything on them.

Xbox Live is a must though, so many cool things you can get off it and it kicks ass to play games online.

If you are not going to get Xbox Live, I would probably advise you not to get a 360. Just because XBL lets do even more things with your games.

Guitar Hero II is coming out for "all major platforms", wo PS2, Xbox 360, PS3m, wii, PC. The Xbox 360 version'll feature a new controller, downloadable content (SONGS, characters, guitars, etc), and 4 player online multiplayer (two take turns soloing on lead guitar, one plays rhythm guitar, one plays bass, etc).

but it's been delayed until 2007, though. And for anyone that DOES get an xbox 360, get one online; If you're fast enough, you can get amazing deals: Fry's sold a premium xbox 360 with an extra wireless controller, Saints Row, Dead Rising, and Test Drive: Unlimited for $360. And Overstock.com has a 15% off coupon, and comes with a free wireless controller.

I wouldn't say the current games are amazing, but there's xbox games out that are selling dirt cheap right now. For instance, Jade Empire. I'm just getting into this game, the graphics honestly look better or at least just as good as some of the current 360 games. And the game itself is awesome so far.
My point is, there's some amazing titles coming out for the 360 if you're into the more mature types of games, but don't forget about all the great games for the original system you can play too. But then it's really worth it when you look back at the original xbox selection. Plus the arcade is cool as hell, you get to download free demo's and all sorts of shit. It acts as a Juke box in my house too. It can play movies, pictures, music thru your home network if you set it up! That's all iceing on the cake though. The games are what matters so here's a little list of my personal favorites:
Some of my favorite xbox games where Halo (not the 2nd), Max Payne, Jade Empire, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I and II, BurnOut: Takedown, Forza, Ninja Gaiden, Doom 3, Grand Theft Auto (any of them), MechAssault

I forgot all about Geometry Wars. That shit was so addicting... and are you sure about the FF games? I'm pretty sure FF, DMC, and MGS were sticking with the PS3.

Square-Enix's VP said that they will spread the wealth this time around and that the didn't want any one console to have their games, so Xbox will be seeing the final fantasy franchise too. He wasn't specific though. I don't know if he meant like how the game cube had FF Chronicles that Xbox would have it's own FF series or if FFXIII will out on both systems. MGS and DMC as far as I know will still be on the PS3. But a lot of the big titles coming out seem to be on both, even GTA

xbox has A LOT more better exclusive games than just fucking halo, plus DMC4 is going to the 360 along with guitar hero.
