I watched this movie Donny Darko. I watched it very closely as I do with most movies that seem interesting. This movie was pointless. I wasn't sure what the point of it was. I guess the creator of it wanted to say something about how the prescription drugs of 80's sucked ass. I head peers in class talk about it likeit was an artistic movie witrh lots of cool ideas. The truth of the matter is that this movie was a waste of life and money.

I loved that movie. I think Patrick Swayzee(god) and his followers(worshipers) represent religon, and even if hes proven false, the followers still have faith in him.

i suggest smoking a lot of weed before watching donny darko, i think youd find it a lot more intresting / really good. the movie has a lot to offer. stop thinking your some kind of artistic expert. you disgrace the name of trogdor, and for that i strongly dislike you.

i wouldent say it kicked ass it was VERY interesting though and i can see how some one would dislike it the acting was deplorable and it seems as if there was very poor editing (i.e. many deleted scenes) thats why the movie was sooo confusing

I think it was supposed to appeal to teenagers that use drugs. Maybe because it had some type of mind bending affect on idiots that made them think about traveling back into time. But really all that happened in that movie was a plane engine killing some loser kid. Please just try to understand that the movie was a waste of time if your not a pothead.

ok, guys.....maybe i'm wrong but the point of the movie is that he did all this shit that he was supposed to do in the "stolen" time he had. It wasn't supposed to be so much artistic as it was trying to make you think. I mean what would you do if you KNEW when you were going to die?? I personally liked all the shit it brought up, even though it did get somewhat convaluted. Of course, as always, to each his own but I would suggest watching movies such as this with an open mind. It was just a bunch of people caught in a fucked up situation......

to trogdor: ill admit that i smoke a lot of weed, and that the content of the movie, in retrospect, left much to be desired. and although you never called yourself artistic i think you can see where i was coming from by reading yor first post; perhaps i jumped to conclusions. but at the very least it offered somthing new, however stupid. i watched it the other day when i wasnt under the influence and felt the same way. the movie was pure bad. however i stand by the fact that if you watch it high youll catch somthing you wouldnt ordinarily. and in doing so will probebly love the movie as i do. i must sound like a pothead with poor movie selection who uses a lot of commas. but then again i am. viva trogdor. burnination. you know what im talking about trogdor.

*breath in* Maybe u just didn't get Donnie darko. The movie as alot of events that happen before it. I finally figured this out and it makes sense. here i go....

1st time: Alright before the movie even happens he goes through all these events and finds out how to go back in time where the loop hole is and everything from that old lady because he found her journal and all that and when he goes to see her the cute girl dies and he kills the guy in the bunny suit out of rage so he decides to try to go through the loop hole and save her. Plus during this all he finds out about the child porn ect. because he foudn the guys wallet and i guess snuck into his house or sumthing.

2nd time: He is never killed because the plane never went through the loop hole because he hasnt accused the guy of child porn cause he only knows about it hes never burned down the guys house. The bunny is actually the donny that went back in time and they are both stuck in the same body because two donnys cant live at the same time so it gives him a "split personality" SO he follows all of the bunnys hints and it all works out except he cant figure out what the old donny (bunny) is trying to tell him so the girl still dies and so does the guy in the bunny suit.

Then hes looking at the loop hole and decides not to go through because if he does go thorugh the same events will happen and his little sister and all her firends will die in teh loop hole and so will his girlfirend and the guy in the bunny suit so he does the honorable thing and chooses to stay.

I know i thought about this movie waaay too much but its my favorite movie of all time. If u think you found a loop hole or something i said doesn't make sense just ask cause it does fit. I used to have a theory of how he went back 2 times but i just cant remember it. Other donny darko fans have figured this out and agree with me i'm not the only one. Honestly if u have seen donnie darko and cant figure out that theres some hidden story then ur stupid... plain and simple *breath out*

Edit: all the weird bubble trails are there because old donny is living inside donnie darko and old donnie has already seen this exact same thing happen so he already knows what and where everyone is going to go thats how there are bubble trails

Edit2: the old lady alwasy goes out to her mail box because shes waiting for the letter from donnie because she knows he will send her a letter and shes anticipating in.

First off let me say, if you don't like this movie that is fine, people have their own opinions/taste so all of you who are bitching at someone because they hated this flick, lay off being lame is not the way to go.

I will explain the movie in my views:

Donnie, was in fact on medication, but that was definately not the reason of franks appearance, I believe the reason Frank brought Donnie to the golf course, was a way to save his life from Donnie. Donnie was sleepwalking and missed being killed. Frank basically showed donnie all the things that could go wrong if he lived. His mother and sister dying, Frank dying, his g/f's mom dying, Swayze being exposed (wheter he was demented or not it ruined his life, and shook his followers. Basically saying if god has a flaw dont lose faith.)
Drew Barrymore losing her job. And several other events, sorry I didnt go into much detail.

But personally I loved this movie, it was a thinker, artsy in a way of it's own. But it doesnt really seperate itself from alot of other Sci-Fi flicks about time travel. So yeah anyone who doesnt like this movie, thats fine, Im not a dick like all the others who cant take it because not everyone is that same.

I've never seen the movie (hoping too) and i've heard nothing but good reviews on it. From what i know so far the plot is really complex, makes you think, and makes you keep watching it over and over for clues on the full meaning. I don't know if that is true, but it's what i've heard about it
