On Tuesday, OCT. 10th 2006, you will begin taking reservations on the Sony PS3 under sku xxxxxx (Premium) and sku xxxxxx (Core). YOU MAY NOT BEGIN TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR THE PS3 PRIOR TO OCT 10th, 2006! Reservations are to be processed on a "first come-first served" basis for your customers. Under NO circumstances are reservation "places in line" to be held for customers. Our online reservation program will be activated at a future date: online reservations will be available as "bundle only".

No forced bundles or any other customer "requirements" are allowed (our online reservation policy may vary). Reservations will be limited to one system per household (customer is allowed to reserve one PS3 and one Wii, if desired).
As these systems are in short supply and high demand, all stores are being allocated on their reserve quantity. Stores are not allowed to reserve above their assigned reservation allocation for any reason.

Your assigned allocation for the PS3 is x units TOTAL between the 2 system choices. You are only allowed to reserve x units TOTAL of PS3. No more than 2 of these systems can be set aside to be purchased by store employees.

I went and got a preorder this morning even though I think it's lame as hell, but I figure people will be waiting 4x as long in the colder weather next month for one of these so why not, it was actually too easy to sleep in a line and eat Panera bread muffins for a few hours to make some profits on Ebay. I think that is true, the Wii's graphics just look like ass, but alot of the games look like fun, you have the 360 which has alot of good games, then the Ps3 seems to have slightly better graphics and more extras, but has no games that look interesting. When all is said and done I just want grand theft auto when it comes out, most other games today suck.

I'm not spending $500-600 for a video game console. That's a few of my pay checks, it isn't worth all the hard work and labor for that. Besides, Sony titles doesn't catch my eyes as much as they use to. Even if ps3 was cheaper, I still wouldn't buy it. $250 pricetag for the ps3? Nah, I still would pass the offer. Sure, the graphics look sweet, but if it's not fun for me, I'm not buying it.

Ps3 and Xbox360 isn't doing anything new. Yeah sure, online features, buy stuff online. What does that have to do with gaming itself. Still the only thing they are doing new is the "improving graphics" idea. But haven't we been doing that every go around? Something new is what we need from those two consoles. ...No...Everything the P$3 has I can get on 2 Consoles for alot cheaper.

Motion Sensing. Wii does it better, the Wii does it in a 3D way while the P$3's is limited to a 2D movement,that's right it uses only 2 Axis, the Wii's uses 6.

Graphics. Xbox 360 have the same graphics no matter what anyone tells you, the fact is the only difference there is lighting and texture. Look at screens of CoD3 or Assassins Creed and you'll notice all the P$3 has a hold of is a better shadow while the Xbox 360's buildings/floors/clothes look alot more crisp and very much more detailed.

Online. DO NOT even bring up Sony's online blah-di-blah is better because it's free. Your oh so wrong if you do. Sony will make you pay for everything, Demos, Game Trailers, the whole damn lot while Microsoft let you download everything for free, forever on a Silver account so after downloading 75+ Demos for $1 each, you can see why paying $40 for multiplayer is alot better. Multiplayer? Sony have one hell of a fucking hill to climb after their marketplace fiasco and from the P$2 multiplayer, that hill looks really fucking high.

Games. The Wii launches with 21 games and 6 more I believe from the on until Christmas, the Xbox 360, by christmas, will have hit 150+ retail games and 50+ arcade games. Compare to the games the P$3 has at it's line-up and 6 months down the line, those enemy crabs aren't helping.

Neither the PS3 or the Xbox 360 will do good in Japan. Though the 360 has Lost Oddessy(sp?)/Blue Dragon and such JRPG's and the PS3 will have it's couple of large JRPG's (that won't be seen till the end of 2007, which doesn't help) neither the two consoles will hold a candle to the Wii over there escpecially after the massive speculation of Square-Enix moving back to Nintendo.

That's not a valid point about the PS3 except fanboyism and brand loyalty. The PS2 had an almost 2 year head start, built themselves huge fake hype before hand and had it's huge zombie following from the PS1. 95 million sold is a valid number I know, but how many were rebuys? Wasn't it the first 2 year batch of PS2's DVD Drives blew after 1.5 years? After 1.5 years of a game collection for only one console I would of had no choice to rebuy.

And this has no indication that the PS3 will get anywhere come 2 years down the line.

You say the PS3 will win because of BluRay. I'm sorry, but that is just too fucking retarded. The 360 has HD-DVD which is largely superior when it comes to both gaming and watching movies. As everyone knows BluRay can't decode H.264/V-C1/Numerous Next Gen Codecs while the 360 can. When it comes to movies BluRay Formats Decode in MPEG2 which in HD takes up alot of space while H.264 and such can be compressed to x30 than that so when your watching cinematics in your game you will have more room on the Discs for extras and such. Now onto the discs themselves, BluRay S-Discs are 15GB while are HD-DVD are 20GB, BluRay D-Discs are 50GB while HD-DVD are 40GB but the larger size D-Discs don't matter because BluRay almost fills that with HD Movies yet a HD-DVD could fit that on to its S-Discs. HD-DVD has pretty much won already.

PS wii60 i didn't mention the ps3 Motion Sensing,cause truly Wii does it better

Neither the PS3 or the Xbox 360 will do good in Japan. Though the 360 has Lost Oddessy(sp?)/Blue Dragon and such JRPG's and the PS3 will have it's couple of large JRPG's (that won't be seen till the end of 2007, which doesn't help) neither the two consoles sony will hold a candle to the Wii over there escpecially after the massive speculation of Square-Enix moving back to Nintendo.

The PS2 had an almost 2 year head start, built themselves huge fake hype before hand and had it's huge zombie following from the PS1. 95 million sold is a valid number I know, but how many were rebuys? Wasn't it the first 2 year batch of PS2's DVD Drives blew after 1.5 years? After 1.5 years of a game collection for only one console I would of had no choice to rebuy.

You say the PS3 will win because of BluRay. I'm sorry, but that is just too fucking retarded. The 360 has HD-DVD which is largely superior when it comes to both gaming and watching movies. As everyone knows BluRay can't decode H.264/V-C1/Numerous Next Gen Codecs while the 360 can. When it comes to movies BluRay Formats Decode in MPEG2 which in HD takes up alot of space while H.264 and such can be compressed to x30 than that so when your watching cinematics in your game you will have more room on the Discs for extras and such. Now onto the discs themselves, BluRay S-Discs are 15GB while are HD-DVD are 20GB, BluRay D-Discs are 50GB while HD-DVD are 40GB but the larger size D-Discs don't matter because BluRay almost fills that with HD Movies yet a HD-DVD could fit that on to its S-Discs. HD-DVD has pretty much won already.

Correction, they have improved the controller design, the R1,R2,L1,L2 buttons have been improved. The joysticks have also been improved. They did actually give the controllers a make over, however everyone hated it, so they changed it back ... Besides if the motion sensing is a 'gimmick' you can still use the controllers just fine. They seem to work on the PS2 just fine.

The shoulder buttons are basically the same, they're still there they just made them a couple centimeters thicker or something very miniscule. I prefer triggers personally, they are more comfortable and work well with shooting and as a throttle and break. The joysticks aren't very accurate they may have fixed this, but I'm fairly sure they have not They are also in a bad spot, since the joystick is standard in most games it makes more sense to put it where they have the D-pad. It's not even as good as the nintendo 64's. The previous makeover you say they had was just them giving it ape hanger style handle bars, ofcourse they changed it back to the orignal because everyone hated it. I guess Nintendo and MS took all the good ideas and didn't want to copy their ideas anymore than they already have. Yes, the controller itself will work just fine if it is just a gimmick, this is why they didn't go all out like Nintendo because they know they won't be able to support it as well. Then there's rumble, or lack there of I should say. It isn't all that important, but you will definitely notice it's absence.

Your whole paragrah doesn't make sense, I was talking about hardware. As in the Ps3 overheating, it's power supply exploding (not too far fetched considering it's Sony) or just so you know I'm not "bashing" the Ps3 the blinking red lights on the 360. If any of those were software they would just release a patch to fix them, but they are hardware. I can't even think of a case were a console had a catastrophic software problem because software can be fixed through......software. Either way this is why not to buy any console around launch unless you get a warranty, it's just dumb.

Seriously, for the last fucking time. I think all the consoles are good in their own fucking way. However for me the Playstation 3 offers what I want. That does not in any fucking way make the other consoles bad or shit or crap or gay or pants.

True enough, you can go along with Phil Harrison's proclamation that it's already the industry-standard controller amongst umpteen-million gamers around the globe, but, arguably, that doesn't make it the best. Personally, we can't help but feel that the SIXAXIS (as it's now known) has been sadly neglected when viewed alongside the rest of the PS3. Compared to Microsoft's uber-comfortable Xbox 360 pad, the SIXAXIS feels cheap, plasticky, uncomfortable and disconcertingly light - almost as if it's going to fly out of your hands during those more extreme gaming moments.

More worrying still, the newly-designed lower L and R shoulder triggers feel more like they belong on an early controller prototype than the near-final model. Replicating the 360 pad, rather than being simple shoulder-mounted buttons, the triggers are now hinged horizontally along the controller, with pressure forcing them inward along the bottom - like triggers then, really. Trouble is, they're placed almost unnaturally low meaning we found ourselves operating them by jamming our fingers in between the hinges to apply pressure, rather than using the buttons themselves. What's more, the triggers are convex, with no grooves to keep your fingers in place - an issue further compounded by their smooth finish, offering no resistance against your finger tips. Invariably we found our digits slipping off with the triggers snapping back to their default position. Bah. Of course, the PS2's Dual Shock pad wasn't without its faults either but we still learned to live with it. It's just a shame that Sony hasn't used its resources to bring its controller up to next-gen standards along with its cutting-edge hardware.

Keep on holding down, and it will power back on.

The xbox 360 display case at my local video game store has been there for about 3 months now, and the controllers are still nice (not perfect) but considerring thounsands of crubby hands have been touching it, they faired well.
