HOLY SHIT....Anderson Silva

I knew this guy was a force to be reckoned with. I knew this guy would be the only competition for Rich Franklin in the MW division. I knew he was one of the best well rounded fighters in the world...I even predicted him to win this fight against Rich Franklin.

But I never, NEVER would have imagined him DOMINATING Franklin in less than 4 minutes and knocking him the FUCK out...holy shit. When I say dominated...that is no exaggeration....Franklin has to have a few broken ribs, and he definitely has a broken nose.

He went through Rich Franklin like Franklin was some no name fill in, will anyone stop Anderson Silva in the MW division?

Dana White better not agree to swap fighters with PRIDE in the future unless he wants the UFC to go bankrupt. Anderson Silva was not even a top contender in PRIDE when he fought there, imagine the results of a cross-organization event.

Franklin looked like he never fought in a clinch against a Muay Thai fighter in his life. Clinch-knee combinations are so common in PRIDE and especially in Chute Boxe (where Silva used to train).

I just got back from it, that was unreal. Fuckin' Silva. Sean Sherk was fucking awesome, even with all that blood. Florian can take some hits, though.

That's no shit. I didnt want this to turn into a PRIDE nuthugger thread but Rich Franklin (still respectfully) is one of the best middleweights in the world, period, there's no question about that, but Silva just brought more to the table.

I'd like to see a PRIDE vs UFC, but I guarentee not all the fights would be dominated like that one.

i knew he was going to dominate it too. After seeing how quickly he won his debute fight, it wasn't very surprising. Silva is the man, and i doubt anyone can match him.

It would be interesting to see how he works on the ground though. I think a guy like matt hughes might beable to beat him.

By all accounts this result was not supposed to happen. A B-level fighter from PRIDE wasn't supposed to knock out the top P4P ranked middleweight in the world in the first round in only his second fight in the UFC. Yes, it's quite shocking.

Are you sure you knew that? I dont think anyone did man. Franklin is no chump. He won his debut fight against a sloppy striker that leaves his chin wide open (though it was still dominating).

You need to watch Silvas past fights. Quite a few have gone to the ground and he is a wiz on the mat as well. He is the most well rounded fighter in the UFC...just well, he hasent shown his mat skills in the UFC yet :help:

UFC has great talent from North America but Pride has the International community. So to say that UFC has the most talent is ovbiously wrong, but UFC still puts on good shows, its just that Zuffa has poor decision making when it comes to giving fighters contracts.

Which knee? The several to the body or the few to the face? Either way he probably sustained broken ribs and he definitely has a broken nose. Those knees to the body were hurting me, that's how bad it was.

in all seriousness, IMO franklin will be a better fighter after this loss. someone finally showed him that he still has some game to work on. always learn on your own mistakes.
