The original titel for the first Harry Potter book is "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone." That's the title in England and the rest of the English speaking world except for the US. The publishers in the states thought that kids wouldn't understand the word "philosopher" so they changed it to "sorcerer." Why they though that? I don't know. I thought it was kind of dumb.

I do agree with the point that was made earlier on, which is that if it brings kids to read more, it's a winning situation.

However, I also remember that 20/20 show where this lady was saying that the library for which she worked was not going to be able to buy the projected encyclopedia they had planeed to buy. The reason? The money went to buy more HP books.
