View Full Version : I'm Seeing Testament Tonight!
Tonight I'll be seeing one of my all-time favorite metal bands, Testament (http://www.myspace.com/testamentlegions), at the Crazy Donkey (http://thecrazydonkey.com). Any fans (or metalheads in general) who live on Long Island should definitely go to the show. It's in Farmingdale, right in the middle of the island basically (Rt. 110).
So anyway, the show's gonna kick ass, the venue kicks ass, and the bartenders are all hot sluts. I saw these guys last spring (April, I think) at the same place and it was fucking CRAZY. At the end of that concert, Chuck (the singer) said they loved the place and they were definitely coming back soon. He kept his promise and I creamed my pants.
Anyone who likes metal and doesn't know about Testament is missing out on one of the greatest metal bands ever.
Can't fuckin wait.
Gonna go get drunk and barbeque at a friends house in a little bit.
6 hours till the show.

Lucky. I missed out on Testament because I didn't have enough time to order them online and then the box office closed early on the day. Bastards.
These are the concerts I have planned:
Necrophagist - 23rd Oct
Onslaught - 30th Oct
Opeth - 8th Nov
Motorhead - 9th Nov (maybe)
Amon Amarth/Wintersun/Tyr - 23rd Nov
Iron Maiden - 23rd Dec

I hope you have a good time. Testament was supposed to come to my local venue, but had to postpone the show indefinitely. If the show is anything close to what the "Live in London" DVD is like, it's going to be awesome.
^Well, I saw them earlier this year and they were fucking awesome. So I think I can expect a sick show tonight.

I seriously envy you guys. Seeing Testament, or any of those bands for that matter, would kick ass.
Holy shit. That was fucking INSANE. The concert was fuckin amazing, but the best part of the night came after the show.
Before the band even went onstage, they had 2 VERY fuckin HOT twins dancing on the bar in bikinis, taking dollar bills between their tits. Nice way to start the night.
The show was fucking amazing, every song kicked ass, and they played some of the newer stuff (from the Gathering) that they didn't play last time.
Then, after the show, they dropped a fuckin bombshell:
At the end of the last song, Chuck Billy (singer) says to the audience: "Hey! We don't have any pot, so if anyone has some and wants to smoke, see us out back!...I'm serious!".
At first I just kinda laughed it off. Then we went outside. We had to walk behind the bar to get to the parking lot and there was Testament's fucking tour bus with 3 huge bouncers at the door, a bunch of sluts hanging around, and like half the people from the audience. One of their roadies comes out and says "OK WHO HAS THE GREEN!?". Of course, we flip out and call him over before anyone else has time to answer. My friend John had like 3 grams and my brother had a little more then that. The roadie asked if the band could sample a little of it, then if it's good we could probably get on the bus and smoke with Testament. I shat myself.
A few minutes later the guy came back out and said "OK, how many are you?". We had 5 people with us, and he said there wasn't enough room on the bus for everybody. So in the end, my brother and my friend John got on Testament's fucking bus and smoked with the band (it was them 2 cause they were the ones with the weed). I was happy for them, but extremely fucking pissed that I didn't have any weed.
After like half an hour, they came back out along with the band. Nobody left empty-handed.
On top of meeting the band, I got a picture with Alex Skolnick (lead guitar) and Greg Christian (bass), and Chuck's autograph on my ticket stub.
But my bro and friend made out the best. On top of gettin in their bus and smoking with Testament, my friend got the setlist (autographed by the whole band) and a Testament guitar pick; and my brother got the "Testament 2006 Flight Itinerary", which is basically a 9 page schedule of everything they're doing in 2006, also autographed by everyone.
So it was a fucking amazing night, I'm a little pissed that I couldn't get in the bus, but it's not so bad.
Also, they assure us that Testament IS working on a new album. No word on a release date yet, but they are working on it now.

Sounds awesome, that musta been quite a night. Glad you had fun dude.
Yeah, it was fuckin ridiculous. It may sound like bullshit to some people, but if anyone ever gets the chance to see these guys at a small venue, you'll see. Testament is actually some really cool guys, very approachable and laid-back. None of that rockstar asshole ego.

I now hate you. :p I'm glad Alex Skolnick is back inn the band. He is a great guitarist. Did they play mostly old stuff?
Hopefully I'll be able to meet one of the bands I'm going to see soon. I think Amon Amarth are probably the most likely to do a meet & greet after the concert. They seem like nice guys. I would shit myself if I got the chance to meet Muhammed Suicmez after the gig.
2000th post, fuckers!

Yeah, the original lineup of is fuckin killer. And aside from 3 songs from the Gathering (their latest CD), they played nothing but old songs.
My friend that met the band has the whole setlist, but off the top of my head they played these songs (mostly in the wrong order):
I know they opened with Eerie Inhabitants
The New Order
The Haunting
DNR (Gathering)
3 Days of Darkness (Gathering)
True Believer (Gathering)
Into The Pit
Over The Wall
Electric Crown
this is where it gets a little fuzzy. I know they closed with Disciples of the Watch, but then did a triple encore with 3 songs that I can't remember. The whole second half of the show is pretty hard to remember. Once I get another look at the setlist, I'll tell you the exact order of songs (and probably post a picture of it too)

That is the coolest thing I've ever heard. Now I absolutely have to see Testament.

I might have to miss that show. They're coming right in the middle of my exam week.

No kidding!

They sound awesome from what you've said, but I have never heard of them before in my miserable life. Thanks for giving my that MySpace page.

No problem man. Like I said, ANYONE who likes metal really really has to at least give Testament a try. Get your hands on as much of their stuff as you possibly can. If you like metal, chances are you're gonna love Testament.
edit--I remembered more songs they played at the show:
Burnt Offerings
Alone In The Dark (first encore)
Souls Of Black (second encore)
The Preacher (third encore song, last one of the night)
