Complaint for ebaums on a certain pop up!

I love this site, its totally killer. This is my first time on the forums, but i just wanted to voice what happened to me today. I was checking out the videos then went to the cat selection. I looked at a few pictures then went to look at the videos, i had a pop up that took over the entire screen and it said press enter. Stupid me i did in stead of closing the annoying pop up the hard way and BOOM! i was bumbarder with many other pop ups. So bad i had to restart.

After the restart i found i had 7 viruses, homepage redirectors, porn links under my favortie links, search bars, etc. I see if you need pop ups to help pay for the cost of your site but that type of pop up is not needed! Any one else had this happen before?

maybe it was a coincidence(sp) because i know you must go to porn sites and dl or watch videos, so thats how you might have gotten the viri.

uh not really. AVG scans for viruses on every start up. If one is present it will alert you to it. and if you procede you have to physicially press a key to continue. And this morning i had no viruses. after the pop up incident i did. i think its fairly safe to say it was the pop ups that came from the ebaum site.

EDIT - also ebaums is on my favorites links. those other sites werent there before i visited ebaums this morning. so process of elminattion would leave the pop up from this site as the culprite.

Look dude, most of these "viruses" are not really harmful. I have dozens and my computer has been working fine over a year with em. Just do a system restore to yesterday and it will get rid of all those links and stuff. Then grab adaware to get rid of these "viruses" communicated with the internet. You'll be fine.

EDIT: and while im at, u cant expect to browse all these sites without picking up something or another, get a Firewall (if you dont already have one) like norton internet security

Ya i know your bound to pick up tons of crap on some sites. but that pop up today, woow it was a killer. I have never seen it before on this site and i have been lurking around it for a while. I have adware 6.0 and spybot search & destroy. they removed a bit more junk then normal today but still i had to do a lot of clean up. but its gone (hopefully) and cleared up and its all good.

ebaum - perhaps it was just a freak pop up or something but this did happen. the only other site i was on at the time doesnt deal with pop ups. I dont know. this is not a lie or a game. it did happen but i dont believe it was 'intentional' as i have never seen a pop up even resembling this on ebaumworld . com before.

*yawn* If you see, yes i was sarcastic towards D2. Reason being cuase of the whole pop up crap that happened. I went back and edited my message seconds after posting to remove what i had said cause i relized it would start a total flame war, as quoted above, and i didnt want to do that. BUt as they say a little to late. its edited, but the damage has been done. but i forgive you for what you said. i only hope you all can rise above and see wha im getting at here.
