I have a rectangle picture, going vertically. How can I cut it into 6 even squares? Like 3 tiles high and 2 tiles wide? Idk if that makes sense, but any help? Thanks.

Kind of a late reply, but whatever.

Click on the Rectangle Marquee tool. Up on the top bar, where it says "Style:" and there's a drop down menu, select "Fixed Size". Set the width to "50%" and set the height to "33.333%".

As a result, each rectangle will take up 1/2 the width of the canvas and 1/3 the height, effectively creating two columns of three boxes.
