i mean i liked it but there would be a few things i would change.

one is to stop showing brad pit naked and that it was inaccurate. i mean they made it last 15 days instead of like 10 years or whatever.

but other than that it was great

agree?

inaccurate? thats an under statement. It was changed completely. yeah, it was a good movie, actually it was great. its worth buying. but i still think that they should have stuck with the original. less of Brad Pitt. More of Helen. Good acting too.

this movie was awesome... the only reason people didn't seem to like it on the yahoo reviews was because they were expecting to see the iliad and got something almost loosely based on it instead

i'm getting real sick of all the computer generated armies, raging across computer generated battlefields, to do massive computer generated combat. i mean i think it was down to perfection with LOTR: return of the king, and when i watch it in a movie like that i am entertained and amazed. however when i watch it in a movie like Troy i find it hokey and it just takes me out of the film. i mean when they made the original Helen Of Troy, or even Cleopatra they actually got 1000 people.

as to other things about the movie. i thought Brad pitt as achillies was to introspective and mopey, i mean Achillis is a greek ledgend, a warrior and great hero, not some pining general.

the one thing i loved about this movie was the apperance of probably one of the greatest actors of our generation Peter O'tool. i mean just watching Lawrence of arabia still gives me chills. and i could almost see him channaling some of that charecter in this role, especially during the scene in tent with Pitt. he really outshines the whole movie

all and all i hated Troy, but it was still a better choice to spend my 7.50 on that insted of "Raising Helen"

I didn't think Troy was a good film. The acting was quite poor. Brad Pitts acting in the film was the worse. He did a much better job at Fight Club and 12 Monkeys. And what was with everyones accent being different? Plus the story was changed. Achilles was meant to die with one arrow through his achilles tendon, not a few more throught his chest. And instead of the gay lover he was meant to have, they gave him a cousin instead. And Helen. She was meant to be tough, not crying and carrying on like she was in the film. They started a war over her for gods sake.

ok the movie was called troy but it is the story of the trojan war. it is supposed to go by what actually happened. almost everything in the movie was changed one way or another.

Patroclus in the story was Achilles' friend, not his lover.
Patroclus reminded me of one of the Hanson's.

BTW....b4 he died, Achilles went back to greece. Also, in the story, Phlioctetes was on his way to troy with Hercules's poison-tipped arrows. they didnt add that. theres tons more but i dont have time.

I dont have that big of knowledge on Greek and Roman mythology (basically what I learn from Age of Mythology which isnt much) but I didnt like the movie that much. The action scenes were pretty good but I felt the stunt men should of been paid more than the actors.

Did the king of Troy have cataracts or something? his eyes were fucked up through the whole movie (unless that has something to do with the history of it)
