1. The "Add to favorites", "Upload your video", and "Share with a friend" icons aren't too pleasing to the eyes.
2. Why have an "Upload your video" button visible while you're wtahcing someone elses video?
3. The "Flag as Inappropriate" button needs an icon, or it needs to be removed... wouldn't i flag this... Air Shit (http://emuse.ebaumsworld.com/watch/7).
eBaums isn't know for it's correctness, or our we trying a more YouTube/MySpace typed video upload site?
4. I know we'll have password change, profile editing options in the future, so those complaints aren't valid, since we are just in Beta.
I'll have more later. :rollseyes

Wouldn't the ability to upload videos require a membership? Also, should all vids be checked of before they are cleared so 10 versions of the same movie are not submitted?

Yes, yes yes. Set up a small team for QC. I'd even volunteer for that. But a filter system of this type would require human interaction...but so worth it.

Very true, one of the biggest failures of YouTube is the huge amount of reposted videos.
Also, if eBaum's will ever become the tyranical king of online media, it has to focus on it's biggest enemies.

Couldn't agree more.
If there was someway to sift through all the incoming videos (most likely human interaction), and assign the videos with appropriate and accurate video tags; people would be able to locate the exact video they wanted to view given it has already been uploaded.

So you mean like mods that go through deleting reposts? I wonder if the forum mods would want to do that.

I think it works for youtube. Just in case one vid is taken down there is another one set up.

I doubt they would. It would probaly be a brand new squad of video mods, that buy hot rods, and lay down sod...

I'm all for volunteering for that venture. But if the option is even a viable one, that is yet even on the table, we would then need to weigh all the pros and cons and yadda yadda.

Another thing: Pop-ups = annoying. Just throwing that out there. I've never seen a pop-up on youtube...

I think there should be different icons for add to favorites and share with a friend. These two are too closely related to youtubes and I think that emuse should be distinguished as something different.

So, what are we getting for this strenuous beta testing? I think for all the sweat and tears, 10,000USD should suffice. And a new car. A hummer. Or just a pack of smokes and a .44oz fountain dr pepper.

A direct link from eBaum's World to eMuse would probably be a good idea. I don't care much for having to click "back" when I want to go back to eMuse from the video section.
...Unless I'm missing something...

How about a list of tags that you can select instead of manually typing in. This would make it easier for videos to be grouped by similar tabs than just 30 others that people made up.

Another idea: How about an animated gif or some kind of a status bar so that you know that your video is actually uploading? Sometimes it seems as if it isn't doing anything when it really is uploading; so people would tend to give up.

we'll be adding one eventually, after we get all the bugs squared away...

This is another good idea, but difficult. Once there is over 1000 videos in the system the tag list will be very large, how do we decide what to present to each user and each video? Eventually we will probably build in tag monitoring to the moderation tools we are working on, so that mods can manually delete stupid or pointless tags.

Another great idea, one that is in the works already.
Keep em coming guys!

Make it so when you type in tags you can just press enter and not have to press the go button.
Also the ability to delete your own comment.

Yeah and maybe a video rating system.

Ok where you are browsing through the videos and at the top is
Prev « Top 24 » Next
I think that there shouldn't be the symbols next to prev and next. You should be able to click directly on Prev Top 24 Next to do their job. I think that it is useless to have those little symbols.

It looks like all of the bug issues were caught on pretty quickly.
I never had a chance to bug report anything...
Now all it needs is aesthetic tweaks, and functional changes.

I'm all out of bugs. A lot of the bugs that were reported didn't reproduce for me so as said above, just the functional tweaks.

1.Possible some sort of, 'Recommend for Front Page' system.
2.The ability to add a preview picture of your video or file.
3.Certain Flash Animations (Or possible videos) also need to be shown at a certain dimensions, The default Swf is 550 px by 400 px, but it would be handy to have some control over that. Or some animations may now show up properly.
