A few days ago, my firend's brother decided to buy a 360 with Gears of War. Since my friend was back on vacation from school, we decided to play thought the single player in coop split-screen. Last night we loaded it up and finally started, and played for about 2 hours.
Now, this game looked really amazing to me, and I had really high hopes for it. And when we started to get into it, after gettingt eh controls down, it was absolutley amazing.
The gameplay is really really fun, and the firefights are just amazing. I love the cover system they have, and its really easy to understand how to use it.
Graphics are really good, but not as good as I originally thought, but rediculous non-the less.
Only thing is, I think we missed the storyline somewhere, we don't really know whats going on lol.
1 thing that bothered me is it seems you can't pcik chapters youve finisehd, and start from tehre, as it appears to be all in checkpoint saves, and if someone accidently uses the profile we used for the SP, will it overwright ours? Another thing, it seems to skip a lot in 1 or 2 areas. We took the disc out to check it, and it was in perfect condition (its new) and we re seated it in the tray, but it did it again. Not a big deal, since it hasnt happened since.
All in all, I'd buy a 360 for this game alone (plus i hear 2 more coming) because I think its just that good. But I'm not gonna buy a 360 July, closer o when Halo3 comes out, but not too close to Halo 3, cause I dont want to get a sold out sign everywhere for the others buy for H3.
