View Full Version : Which console for me?

The only games i really play are EA Sports games (Madden, NHL, FIFA) and GTA games.

That being said, does it really matter if I get a PS3 or a 360? and to be honest i hate the PS3 controller.

and i'm still getting a wii for their exclusive games, but it seems pointless (and obviously expensive) to get a 360 AND a PS3... so which one?

If you like Madden and stuff like that get a PS3 cause in the past EA's xbox versions of games have been kinda crappier than the Playstations. Especially in the online play department.

If you hate the PS3 controller, i'd say get the 360. There's really no difference in the games anyway at this point. The potential difference in image quality can be debated endlessly, but if you don't like the controller, i don't think graphics will be a big enough argument to win you over to something you don't like.

The 360 also has a wider range of used sports games from years past, which could be a bonus for you too.

Why do so many people start a thread on here asking which console they should buy? I'm confused? It ususally just turns into a console flaming war, not sure how helpful that is.

But, like I've said before in similar threads, pick which way of gaming makes you the happiest. What games are your favorite? Each console tends to be better geared towards certain gaming styles.

it's just so hard to get an un-biased opinion. i know forums arent the best place to get an unbiased opinion, but so far in the few posts i've gotten good help. i'm leaning towards a 360... but still unsure

the reason why i hate the PlayStation controller is actually 2 reasons

One is the joysticks, they are convex, and the Xbox is concave. I find my thumbs slip less in a concave joystick, especially for madden when you're a running back.

The second is the overall fit, i find the xbox controller was a perfect fit for my hand, but that's just personal opinion i guess.

I would also get a 360 if I were you. Seeing as how you like the controller of the 360 and not the other one thats a plus. Also if your getting games that come out on both consoles whats the point of getting it for a console thats more expensive when your getting the same thing.

And yes im ready for the following reply's:

BUT BLU RAY IS WERTH TEH PRICE!!1!!
SIX AXIS JOO MORONZ LOL!!

I have a 360 and PS3, no Wii... the 360 hasn't been touched since the day I hooked up the PS3 (bout a week ago). If I had to keep only one, it would be a tough choice, but I'd prolly say the PS3 if I didn't have so many friends on xblive and hadn't recently invested $160 bucks in the offical 360 force feedback steering wheel.

What's wrong with the ps3 controller? It's practically the same as the 360 except they switched an analog stick with a d-pad.

He said something about his fingers slipping off which isnt suprising seeing as how the controller analog sticks is rounded so it goes down, and he also said the 360 controller just feels better i "tink"

EA's games play better on a Playstation, but if your friends all have 360, then get a 360.

I have a 360 and a PS3. And at the moment, xbox is still king. Sony has a lot of catching up to do in my opinion. I'm still quite disappointed that the ps3 only came with standard composite video cables. And comparing the online capabilities... is a joke. Yes xbox live costs $50 a year, but it is absolutely worth it. XBL has one global friends list, compared to the ps3 where you have a different friends list for each game. Furthermore, XBL has over one million subscribers, there arent even that many ps3s in the world.

And I like the xbox controller better. It is a better fit to my hand, and it is heavier and feels more solid. And the charge cable for the ps3 controller is really short compared to the xbox play and charge cable.

So, in my opinion, Sony really stumbled out of the starting block on this one, but I know they can compete. It will just take time for them to build up momentum and find their stride.

The days of holding a controller pad with two hands is over. Once I played the wiimote, I can't look back now.

You use 2 hands with the Wii Controller, it's why the Nunchuck is there. (I know it's detachable, but the majority of larger titles need it, like Zelda)

He's saying you don't have to be locked in with both hands on the same controller. With your hands separated, the arms can be positioned anywhere, it's more comfortable.

It's similar to the difference between briefs and boxers, you just feel more free with the Wii. :bigwink:

My friends and I enjoyed sports games on the Xbox360 especially since the first Xbox corrected the huge controller problem a couple of months later.

For me it doesn't. I have monkey arms, literally and I thought the Wii would be long enough for me to at least widen my arms to fll around 3/4 of my total arm span. I constantly have to bend my elbows when I shouldn't have to.

The good thing about it though is the WiiMote literally was made for my hands lol, it fits perfectly. The shape of the Nunchuck is the same, a perfect fit, but the C and Z(?) buttons don't feel right, I would of thought the C button would be a Trigger like be.

But compared to the crappy Designs Nintendo came up with first, the WiiMote is God. (http://www.gamer.nl/images/content/Iris@Gamer/200612/1166517836_0.jpg)

I've had the game for 1 week and I'm at 79%. I feel like I'm going to run out of things to do in about a month. XBOX live better be worth it, because after I get 100% that's all that is left with this game.

GTA: San Andrea is so much bigger. I could run around for days and not see the same place twice. I like that. All the exploring added to the fun of the game.

Get a 360. PS3 will not catch up at it's price point. The only thing it'll have over 360 is some Japanese franchises, but you don't seem to care about those.

Correct, in the 360 version you can only edit player names and stats. You cannot change the team names or kits
