Wow, good stuff in my opinion. I absolutely loved that movie! A complicated plot, and realistic characters. I highly reccomend it to anyone and everyone. What are some of your thoughts?

Yeah, I think it is the Director's Cut. It is supposed to have more footage. It will probably have all the deleted scenes in it with maybe more stuff.

No Problemo. I noticed that it said new music, does that mean they will replace some of the music in the original? if they do, I hope they leave in Mad World by Gary Jules, that song fit well.

Yeah, I think a lot of the music in it went well with the scenes they were used in.

I liked the opening song a lot too. "Killing Time" or something like that. Does anyone know the title of that song.

The one where hes on the hill then bikes back home? Dang ALL of the music is so awesome! That movie is so good, dunno how the directors cut will change it...

I hope they explain further how "Grandma Death" became who she was.

And they better keep Mad World. (best song ever)

Taken from IMDB.com:

"Summary written by Brendan Smith

During the presidential election of 1988, a teenager named Donnie Darko sleepwalks out of his house one night, and sees a giant, demonic-looking rabbit named Frank, who tells him the world will end in 28 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes, and 12 seconds. He returns home the next morning to find that a jet engine has crashed through his bedroom. As he tries to figure out why he survived and tries to deal with people in his town, like the school bully, his conservative health teacher, and a self-help guru, Frank continues to turn up in Donnie's mind, causing him to commit acts of vandalism and worse."

Yeah that summary doesn't do it justice though, this movie is so mind boggling... just watch it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.

Seriously, like suicide said, that plot summary doesnt do it justice. In fact if you just go and see it even without knowing the plot it doesnt hurt it (for me it was confusing yes but made it seem even better than had i known the outline of the movie) As for its music, I downloaded all of the songs right after i saw it the first time and made a CD but now i cant find it. T.T :(

man movies liek that are cool but sometimes not watchable for the second time. IM not gonna say that bout this movie cause i havent seen it. But once you know the twist it kinda becomes less surprising and less interesting. Like secret window its so boring now that i know he is the killer and hes crazy but at first it wasnt. It was a short lived moment between me and that movie

I know what you're saying about movies like that.

I wouldn't consider Donnie Darko as one of those, but that's just me. To me, I find something I didn't notice each time I watch it.

I agree that Donnie Darko is not one of the movies you can only watch once. Heck ive seen it 5 times :D But maybe thats just me.... :p

I just saw this movie today for the first time, and i am very confused by it. is there somewhere that i can read an in-depth spoiler that explains this movie? Well, i thought it was cool that Jake & Maggie were in the movie together, and when does the directors cut come to theaters in the US? Thanks

It isn't a movie with a bunch of twists and shit, after the first viewing you're like "ummmm wtf just happened  " the more you watch it, the more it makes sense. This movie really makes you think.

I think I might rent this movie tonight. Is it confusing in a good way like Fight Club or confusing in a shitty way like Magnolia? I'm just curious. I'll rent it either way, I'm sure.

I've honestly never met anyone who didn't enjoy this movie...that is, aside from the teenyboppers who post at the IMDB boards, who thought "The Butterfly Effect" with Ashton Kutcher was a brainteaser in comparison to Donnie Darko...
