Xbox 360? Where is the creativity?

I've noticed a lot of 360 fans on this forum who has Bill Gates foot stuck of their ass. This is the reason for this post.

I've been wondering this for some time.....

Why buy a 360? Is their anything new about this console? Let me guess? Cooler graphics? Same crappy rainbow button colored controller. There is nothing inovative about this console.

You would expect a great console coming from one of the biggest billion dollar company Microsoft. But no. Same old shit. Just having 3rd parties focus more on graphics and cut scenes than the gameplay itself. It's a fact. I've given xbox a fair try because I own one. I was let down because it wasn't anything great.

Why should I buy a 360? Halo 3? No because I refuse to buy a console for just one certain game.

Buy a Wii/ps3 or stick with pc gaming, they are at least looking into newer directions.

While the system isn't for everyone there are some really good games on it and it has an astoundingly good online service, complete with demos, updates and even trailers for games coming. While some of these things may not be the cats meow for you, others quite enjoy them. Other than that I don't know what to tell you. Pick up a Wii if you haven't already.

The Wii is stupid, admit it. Everytime I see it, I think of those Little Tykes toys. You can play bowling and tennis by moving around your remote, wooo. And of course, there are those rogue remotes that create craters in your two grand plasma TV. Fun!

And in order to get a PS3, you have to sell your kidney. Seriously, $600 dollars? Pfft, just get a gaming PC instead of wasting it on that hunk of junk. Not to mention, Blue Ray isn't go to take off. The PS3 is just a big expensive dud.

HD-DVD is largely winning, just look at the Sale Ranks difference, HD-DVD is literally Double what Blu-Ray is, even with all the PS3's being sold as Blu-Ray Players. (http://www.eproductwars.com/dvd/)

The only thing this all Accounts on in my eyes is Videophiles buying HD-DVD for the better Quality in nearly all Films and the fact that most HD-DVD Players are cheaper than the PS3 where as a Stand-Alone Blu-Ray Player is something like $900.

But anyway, give it 2 years and HVD might cost this much, so this is really inferior.

Yes HD-DVD is selling better, but you're missing the point of what I said. If Blu-ray does not do well, then a lot of film studios are in trouble and I can not imagine that happening. Can any one verify the following for me? The only HD-DVD exclusive studio is Universal Studios. Sony (Columbia and MGM), Walt Disney (Walt Disney, Miramax, and Touchstone), Warner Brothers (Warner Brothers, New Line, and HBO) ,and Fox (20th Century Fox and Blue Sky) are all exclusive to Blu-ray. If I'm wrong then ignore everything I've said.

Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros. (including subsidiaries HBO and New Line Cinema), Warner Music Group, The Weinstein Company (through Genius Products), Image Entertainment (including Discovery Channel), Magnolia Pictures, Brentwood Home Video, Ryko, ****/Goldhil Entertainment, and Studio Canal.

Though some of the rights for certain Movies that belong to Companies sided with Blu-Ray have turned up on Xbox Live!, such as "The Matrix". I'm guessing it gives MS permission to have Movies on their Platform aswell.

I'm more into the Technology into these, I'm not really a Movie person.

The Xbox and PS3 are both kickass systems. I like the 360 for its good games, nice controller, familiar style. I like the PS3 for its innovation (How it differs to become next-gen, big investment for the future,) easy and great expandability, and how it crams a lot into the machine. Both are great for their power.

The Wii... C'mon! I can understand that gameplay is the better part of the game, but that is NO EXCUSE to leave so much out of the system. Weak power, no DVD playback as of yet, no HD, current gen graphics, no online as of yet or message system. You make think I'm stupid, but I think the Wii is gonna fail. The controller is a nice revamp to games, but it can't do everything nice. It may have a large 3rd party support right now, but who knows, they may just say, "Screw it," to trying to make or port games to the system.

The next-era needs... next-gen systems. Not fun for a few hour games. The 360 and PS3 may just be neck and necj at the end of it all.

Nintendo has done something new everytime, which is their franchsies. Zelda has some new in every title they have made. Metroid does something new everytime. Mario changes all the time. It isn't just new worlds that changes in these titles, but the object and gameplay of these titles is what makes nintendo's 1st party titles so interesting. Nintendo tends to change very often. Maybe not much in the hardware department, but in the software? Yes.

Nintendo should have upped the graphics, but nintendo decided to take a step back from the graphics and rebuild the gameplay in this generation. Nintendo didn't want to charge 400 dollars for a system. It wouldn't appeal to the non/light gamers at all. So they didn't make the big graphic jump like ps3 did.

Nintendo will begin online gaming in 1Q 2007.

I've owned a Wii for 2 weeks now and the wiimote has not bored me yet. Still fun to me. Give wii a try, you will be amazed like I have. The hype is real.

The Wii, as a Console, is boring. The only interesting things with it are:

A. Miis, but that's a good Hours of Fun, nothing more.
B. Playing Movies and being able to draw on it like a Paint Program. Again only going to get you so far.

Browsers in Consoles really have no point, well, for me anyway. My Wii is on my Computer Destop, so, yeah. Also the VC is pointless unless you can't find a ROM for the Game. Also it's Online Play (Which won't be out till Q2 next year), you can only play People you have the Wii Codes of. Goodbye Deathmatch.

It has good Games, don't get me wrong. But as a Console, it's nowhere near what the 360/PS3 are. I can spend hours just checking all the new things on Live!, all added each day. The friends System is unrivalled, Comparing Games and God no's makes Gaming Partners/Clans a blast...

Games = Great.
Games + Entertaining Console = Greatest.

If I had the money, I'd be stuck between XBOX 360 and PS3.

The Wii in my opinion has been overhyped at it's release. In a couple of months people will be laughing at themselves for buying it. Sorry, but no matter how often Nintendo fanboys scream, "BUT IT'S THE GAMEPLAY NOT THE GRAPHICS!", to be a next-gen competitor, you have to have next-gen graphics.

I hate Red Steel for alot of reasons. But being a part of the discussion, I'll bring this up.

The Enemies are retards. They have literally 2 basic forms of Instructions, stand still with enough range to shoot or when in a sword fight, go to stab you as much as possible (when they should be parrying and getting the better of you). I know it was a rushed Title and I haven't yet played the CoD3 Port, but the AI in the game was horrible.

Then looking at what the 360 was capable of doing in Gears of War, it just makes it look worse. The Locust and your Team-mates will try to outsmart each other like hell, Flanking, using Surpressive Fire, the lot.

The difference is highly noticable, but both Consoles will improve once new Engines/Dev tools roll out. But it's still noticable.

By the way people like the 360 because of the online play and good games. The online play isn't free like the other ones but the moneys worth it. The games are pretty awsome and If you think the only good game on the 360 is HALO 3 then you have to look at the games. Another thing the people like about the 360 is the graphics. Sure graphics isn't everything but the graphics are kick-ass and they make your eyes bleed. The 360 doesn't have motion sensors but the controler feels good in your hands and some people just dont like motion sensors in the other ones.


The thing I dont like about this section is because there are some threads that say "Wii/PS3/360 Sucks!" Really if its your opinion you dont have to show it to the world (Unless its really worth of a thread).

Rare are providing appeal to children while entertaining adults at the same time on the 360. Viva Pinata?! It's a kids TV Show on 4Kids now.

Microsoft are trying as hell to provide to everyone. Currently Mistwalker for Japan, trying to take Sony's reign, Rare for kids, trying to take Nintendos reign, while keep up with shooters for their own reigns.

Ninty are trying to reach to older audiences with things like Project HAMMER while Sony are charging what they did last Gen, Japan, because that stuff sells everywhere.

It plays games, that is what video game systems do. What else did you want? I guess I don't understand, if you used just the Wii as an example then you would atleast have a point. It does just about everything the PS3 does and the Ps3 does most of the things the 360 can do except in most cases the 360 does it better. So yeah that would be a reason alone right there. Then the fact that it is cheaper. If you want to download different types of media you can now do that on the 360. Lastly it has solid games NOW and microsoft isn't continuiously fumbling up everything. About the controller though, what is rainbow about it? It looks just like the Ps3 controller for the most part, but it was atleast more original as opposed to ps3 which was your whole argument to begin with.... are you trying to not make any sense?
