UK, December 21, 2006 - In a move bound to get certain fists pumping in the hardcore gaming fraternity, SEGA today announced that its much hyped PlayStation 3 exclusive Virtua Fighter 5 officially will come to Xbox 360 in late summer 2007.

The last game in the Virtua Fighter series was a PS2 exclusive, which sold exceptionally well on Sony's system. Virtua Figher 5 had been hyped for some time as a killer PS3 exclusive for fighting fans, but -- following in the footsteps of Assassin's Creed and GTA IV -- will also go multi-platform.

The PS3 version still retains some level of exclusivity, with a US release on February 20 and with the console's launch in Europe. The Xbox 360 version will ship in late summer 2007, according to SEGA.

Virtua Fighter 5 offers worldwide fighting stages in which as many as 17 contestants vie, including two new characters, El Blaze, a wrestler somewhat like Wolf, and Eileen, who employs a Chinese Monkey Kung-Fu fighting style. SEGA also has implemented a new "offensive move" enabling players to take down opponents from different angles; these moves are believed to set VF5 apart from past VF games. Like in Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution, players can customize their characters. They can pick from four base costumes in the beginning, and then choose from a wide spectrum of unlockable accessories items as they progress. By winning more tournaments, players not only earn costumes and accessories, they receieve prizes and in-game money for browsing in the in-game shop.

"SEGA delivers the most technical fighting game experience on Xbox 360 with this installment of the award-winning Virtua Fighter series," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president marketing, SEGA of America. "Virtua Fighter 5 takes full advantage of Xbox 360's hardware with action-packed gameplay, customizable characters, stunning graphics and highly detailed 3D fighting environments."

"The Virtua Fighter series from SEGA has one of the most prestigious histories in video games," said Jeff Bell, corporate VP of marketing at Xbox. "It's a franchise that has grown an army of loyal fans both in arcades and on consoles worldwide, and is consistently rated extremely high by the media. Fighting game fans have been hungry for Virtua Fighter 5 and we can now proudly deliver this game with Sega to Xbox 360 gamers around the world."

We'll have more on Virtua Fighter 5 in the near future.

Meh, I prefer DoA.

Excluding the big tits, DOA is a pretty horrible fighting game.

They've got FFXIII left.

They lost:
Fatal Inertia
BattleBlade or whatever it was
Assassins Creed
VF5
Alan Wake
Resident Evil 5
...Kyle and the other guy?
I know I'm missing more.

Are almost certainly losing:
MGS4 (even if it's a Timed Exclusive)
DMC4 (Been hugely rumoured)

Microsoft:
Oblvion

You forget Killzone 2, UT2007, Lair, Resistance: Fall of Man, Tekken, Motorstorm etc etc

So far the only decent Xbox 360 exclusive is Gears Of War ...

The rest of the games are on both platforms ...

For a start, you've never even played those Games and neither has anyone else. They're not great Games till they get quality USER Ratings. Till then all we know, they could be flops. (BTW, UT is on the PC).

Gears of War?

Chromehounds, Dead Rising, Viva Pnata, Rainbow 6, Encahnted Arms, Test Drive Unlimited, PGR3, Just Cause, Saints Row, LotR:BFMII and Ninty Nine Nights were great Games, and they're just to name a few. And guess what, I've actually played them.

Have fun waiting for those while I actually play some good games.

again you're partially wrong. Resident Evil 5 was never an exclusive. sorry to burst your bubbles but, MGS4 is not even a timed exclusive "Konami has no plans to bring Metal Gear Solid 4 to the Xbox 360 at this time," a Konami representative told CVG, reiterating that the Hideo Kojima stealth-em-up was still "exclusive to PlayStation 3." http://computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=152210&skip=yes

guess what the 360 lost: Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden, and Enchanted Arms just to name a few. also Splinter Cell is coming to the PS3 link: http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/21-12-2006-4358.html

you can have the unproven games like Fatal Inertia and BladeStorm, but the PS3 got your AAA titles like Oblivion(RPG of the year) Ninja Gaiden and more. Dead Rising is also reported to go multiplatform for the next sequel and Ninja Gaiden 2 may also be released on the PS3 by the "B" team of Tecmo if there is a high demand for it, according to a video interview of the lead developer of Tecmo's Team "B".

Double Agent was never a 360 exclusive, its Splinter Cell 5 that is exclusive to 360

The only decent games out of those are Killzone and Resistance.

The first killzone sucked, and all they've shown for the second is CGI.

EGM is a better source than your website AND all gaming companies deny any rumors that aren't official.

also your "lost" 360 games are completely wrong.

Oblivion was never exclusive it just takes a long ass time to make games for ps3. The ninja gaiden going to PS3 is a port of a 2 year old game. The sequel is xbox 360 exclusive. I've nver even heard of a dead rising sequel yet, and in fact there is absolutely nothing on it, you just pulled the multi-platform out of your ass. Double agent was also never exclusive ever, it's just the incredibly long ps3 dev time, just like how rainbow six vegas has been pushed back to march. One more thing Splinter Cell 5 is xbox 360 exclusive :).

but hey what do i care, i've had most of those games for a while now, and ps3 doesn't even have them yet. i played through ninja gaiden 2 years ago hahah, by the time ps3 gets it, it will be a THREE year old game.

also i'd like to see your video interview, provide some sources.

UT2007 Will own full stop. Epic have been making FPS for ages and they're not about to fuck up now.

Sure Killzone 2 was just a CGI trailer, however they realised that they blew everyone away too much when they showed that, so in response they've been working shit hard on this game, go look it up.

Lair, well that actaully looks like an intressting fun game, especially with the ps3 controller, could fail, however from the looks of it, they've gone over gameplay not graphics.

Resistance Fall of Man already proved itself.

Tekken, although i hate it the company that makes it have already about a million tekkens in the work, so i thinkthey know what their doing.

MotorStorm? already proved itself.

Gears of War?

Yes ... the only Xbox 360 game that has been raved about ...

The ones in bold are the only ones ive heard of, and from what ive heard, i aint missing much ...

Oh and btw Rainbow 6 is on ps3

Have fun waiting for those while I actually play some good games.

Yup, the only downside is you have to wait a bit before they're released ...
