Good choices. I'm guessing you like the Grateful Dead? Another one of my favorites. Speaking of Phish I just bought the DVD Live In Brooklyn. Pretty awesome so far.

Most definitely Medeski, Martin & Wood. One of the best jazz/jam bands around.

I started off with Notes from the Underground. On later albums, they used a Hammond organ, since they realised they couldn't take a piano everywhere.

I love to break into a jam stretch when I'm playing...but I can't stand listening to other bands jam...haha. And no, we never subject our audiences to lenghty jam yawn-fests either...they're usually only appreciated by other musicians so everyone else leaves for the bar...

jam bands is what i mostly listen to like Phish, Grateful dead, moe., and shit like that
but its hard to find songs on the internet where its not just the song but the long jam part which is the best part

I saw them with Soulive over the summer for free. My friend played piano in this program called Friends of the Arts, and their groups open for some jazz band every summer. It was an awesome show.

http://stash.nugs.net/stash.asp is pretty good. Hasn't been updated in a while, I don't think but that's where most jam bands in my collection came from.

I think it kicks ass, for my friend at least, that he opened for them. And that show, as I said was alot of fun.
