What do you think about giving celebrities guns (http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=31c9ec79e726ac2ef858b493cf9d87d7.1577591&fr=yvmtf) and the authority to become cops for a small town and filming it? It doesn't really seem fair, or sets a good example when celebrities, such as Jack Osborne, who have a history of drug use are given guns. They are trained and given the ability to apply deadly force by a television network in the name of ratings.
I don't think it should be taken that seriously, since they are just being trained to the point of ride alongs in Muncie, IN. Doesn't seem like they'd have too much violent crime there. The previews look like their all having fun and learning cool cop stuff.

I think your first paragraph and your second paragraph contradict...

I suppose I was contradictory up there because i had a discussion with some friends about this show earlier and found myself somewhat torn. Should we (society/tv/society that drives tv) be giving guns and authority to famous people for entertainment? On the flip side, why take it so seriously.
After watching the show, I felt like the cast (celeb types) truly did want to try to be good cops. They took their training seriously, and were into learning how to be better police officers.
Also if you put in to consideration that the show probably paid Muncie PD for them to use resources to take in 5 new officers--the PD could probably do with the funding, as well as the good PR for their PD. It's not that this show cost taxpayers their money. It may be a benefit.
EP2 is on tonight, and looks like La Toya Jackson is deathly afraid of cats, and will have to over come her fear... okay- not that just sounds ridiculous.

^I'm less worried about the show than I am by the fact that people would actually want to see this.

Am I the only person that completely hates Wee Man? I don't know exactly why but he just pisses me off in almost everything he does...
And that clip of them getting tazered was pretty funny. Celebrity or not, anyone getting tazered and screaming like a bitch is funny.

I accually live in Muncie. (go to Ballstate). most of the town loves it. some of the southside think it makes us look bad but they are the ones getting on TV so who cares. turns out they indeed did pay MPD and the city of Muncie. they also gave their 5 H3's to the MPD for use. I've meet jack and wee-man. infact my uncle is on the force and got on TV. just wait till they do their hooker sting. they have about 8 eppisodes made already.

yeah, I heard that's going to great! Trish Stratus in a prostitution sting. That's gonna be awesome.I wanna see Trish bust up John's!
So, EP2 when they busted a prostitute and her John, he paid her $20!!!! That is not a lot of money for any sort of sexual service- NOT that I know going rates, but when it's that little money, there's usually a drug problem in play. So sad, and so gross.
