I guess Mathcore would be a metalcore version of Math Rock.

Which is rock music but they use odd time signatures like 11/8 instead of the usual ones. So it's just Metalcore with different time signatures.

The album Spiderland by Slint is a great math rock albums.

Uhh, I really don't know too many bands of this sort. Between the buried and me are a good band, and the topic starter said they are mathcore. So download the album Alaska by them.

John Zorns album Naked City according to Wikipedia is math rock. And that's a really good album.

Most bands that are Math Rock according to http://rateyourmusic.com/? I've never heard of. You could just look up the bands on there that are math rock and see if you like them.

Edit: Looked up bands that constitute as Math Rock on Last Fm.

Lightning Bolt: Hypermagic Mountain - Strange noisy shit, very good album.

Tortoise: Very good post rock band. Check out the albums Standard, Millions Now Living Will Never Die and TNT.

I think Cryptopsy, Psycroptic and Suffocation deserves a Tech Death Metal list.

Metallic

Suffocation aren't anywhere near Technical Death Metal. They play Brutal Death, a quite common style from New York based death metal groups.

And the other two aren't all that technical either :(

Oh well. I cant beat you on that cause i haven't been keeping up with metal since the 2003. And in Australia its hard to get into the underground shit. These three bands are the only metal bands i listen to nowadays and they are pretty technical to my ears.
