Converting DVD to WMV/AVI etc?

Anyone know of a good, reliable application that can do this? I'm not that bothered about the output file type as long as it's easily recogniseable and supported by most media players.

I tried to give it a go but the link to the M encoder is dead, so the software won't work :(

Winavi is what i use to convert DVD into avi. and vice versa.

i had some teething problems at first but after a new codec install it works now.

or you can try Divx converter
