Somehow Coughlin convinced NYG higher-ups that he can mold Eli into a dominant winner, and a team leader. What a joke. They are gonna be decent at best next year, unless Jacobs can shine as the #1 back.

Honestly Tiki was a big distraction with all his retirement talk and calling out the coaches. That plus a lot of injuries really hurt the Giants... they should be much better next year.

Sure. I mean they will be able to make up 2000 yards really easy next year. Plus the fact that they lost a great offensive leader while Eli would have this "awww shucks" look on his face.

Im not saying they wont be better, but they would much rather have tiki barber.

Eli's only played 2 years full years....both times taking the giants to the playoffs
- Last year 11-5 won the NFC East
- This year, hardest schedule in football, strahan, toomer, petitgout, arrington, osi for a few weeks, sam madison and corey webster for a few weeks, all injured, still makes it to the playoffs, and put his team in position for a win and lost to a last second FG
- Next year, normal schedule, fully healthy team, gonna have a relatively weak running game, but Eli will lead the giants to the playoffs for the 3rd straight year and this time they will advance.

BULLSHIT! I'm tired of people calling Tiki a distraction, the only people it's a distraction for is the media and the stupid fans. Yeah we had injuries, but we also were in position to win our games except for poor poor poor coaching, and poor coaching also in the playoff game. We get to the redzone and never get Brandon Jacobs the ball? We didn't even play him the whole damn game! People were chanting Fire Coughlin at the end of last year, Tom better not fucking lose any home games this year. And if we keep Tim Lewis...I'll fucking kill myself.

I don't think Tiki or bad coaching was the prime reason for the downfall in the 2nd half. It's simply the injuries that piled up that caused them to lost all those games. Granted the players who filled in their slots didn't play up to the same standards, but those were some injuries to big names on the team and the toll took its effect on the team. The game coaching staff led this team to a 6-2 start, you don't get to 6-2 with poor coaching. I'm not a big Coughlin fan, but I can't blame the poor 2nd half solely on him. The Tiki retirement talk was not a distraction to that team, the media took that BS and ran with it, because that's what the media is supposed to do. They take a non-issue and hype it, so they can have a running story week in and week out. His retirement is going to hurt the team, but they got a good running back in Jacobs. This is chance to take control and make a name for himself. I also think Eli needs to step up big time, he has had a few years under his belt, time to shine like the other quarterbacks selected in the same draft.

I think the problem was the Giants just played better teams. Every game they lost was a game against a quality team. The only one where they were really expected to win and didn't was against Tennessee, although looking back from this point, we all know that that really wasn't such an easy game.
