You don't, NEED, a wireless adapter or HD-DVD player, so therefore, they're not technically part of the system when you buy it, so therefore, and I don't want to make an argument here, but for a premium system, the Xbox 360 is cheaper.

But that doesn't mean it's worse, and it doesn't mean it's better, whatever system you like, that's the best for you, so buy it.

I'm planning to buy a video game console, not an HD-DVD player. If I could purchase a PS3 minus the blu-ray player for 200 bucks less, guess which one I'll buy (assuming I wanted a PS3)? Of course, the 200 dollar blu-ray player is required to play games on the PS3, the 200 dollar hd-dvd player is not on the xbox.

Sony's PS3. The system costs around 800 to build, and it's sold for 200 bucks less than that.

The 360 only costs around 330 to build, and it sells for about 70 dollars more than that.

So, yes, in literal terms, the PS3 is the better value. Adding shit to the XBox to make the dollar price greater than the price of the PS3 is moronic when the facts are so blatant. It's like trying to show someone how to tie their shoes by explaining friction.

Nope, not more expensive for me. I'm not buying an HD player, I might not ever. If I want HD movies I'll probably just download them from Xboxlive. (when I actually get an HD tv) I don't trust wireless for gaming either, too much interference. When I'm running the chainsaw and pwning some nubs in GOW, I need all the connection I can get.
