According to the latest poll of the day (http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2630) at gamefaqs (www.gamefaqs.com) :

BEST OF 2006: Game of the Year (Final Vote)

Final Fantasy XII 24.44% 16151

Gears of War 20.78% 13733

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 54.78% 36207

TOTAL VOTES 66091

I still suggest you to look at the website, the poll layout is better.

The fact that the Sites Message Board is literaly run by the prepubesent Narutards/NintyFanboys I'm not suprised.

This is like someone going to a PS3 Forum and using their votes as an argument.

And finally, did this really need a Thread!?

And approximately 66,500 represent everyone?

Of course! It's so simple!

Yeah, please this could go in the console war thread ...

Nintendo has made some pretty big mistakes. Just look at the Gamecube.

80% of all modern nintendo games are for kids, they have wildly different controller setups for every system, and they are always beaten to the punch when compared to sony's work.

Nintendo is lame. Even though they might have finally done something cool with the wii.

actually, there are over 100k people, which is a good proportion

Well, now it is over 100,000 votes, yes.

However, gamefaqs has been known to have duplicate voting, so there is potentially less than 100k voters. Also, this could be a heavily biased poll just depending on the people who visit that website. You'd need to separate the fanboys from the average gamers in order to determine a fair vote.

nintendo havent won. i think they are just losing at a slower rate then they did with the gamecube. i know of people with the wii who are stuck with zelda, left wondering why they paid $400 for a console that has no games.

sure, it was something different on release, which brought it interest, popularity and support from the public, but the thing gets old very quickly

The fanboys come out. Nintendo is doing well. Stop trying to make excuses.

Wow whoever paid $400 for a Wii and Zelda are idiots because the last time I checked a Wii is $250 and Zelda is $50.

Now I'm pretty sure you don't own one yourself and/or probably have some sort of bias against Nintendo so I won't act as your opinion has any type of validity.

I'm sorry, I love Nintendo and especially Zelda (OoY best game of all time imo), but having a name like LegendaryLink while making a post like that (although completely valid) will not help you.

Yeah, and the only reason why the Wii is doing so well right now is because the majority of the world is made up by Nintendo fanboys.

Today's poll is further evidence of the Nintendo fanboy-ism. Best of 2006...yeah, see, the Wii and PS3 shouldn't even be eligible considering they were only out for 2 months. We haven't even seen their potential. A race for PS2 and XBox 360 would be most believable for the entire year of 2006.

They shouldn't be eligible for 2006 because they were out in 2006? huh?

They were partially in 2006 (no, not the system partially, the year). Sure, it is eligible, but I was referring to what's been evidenced by the PlayStation 2 and XBox 360: a large library of games, plenty of supply for console by company and high quality games. The category is "Best of 2006", not "Best Console of 2006" (a slight mistake I made in my previous post. I didn't omit "Console" from that category, though I should have).

I just feel that the PS3 and the Wii haven't met the requirements to top the PS2 or XBox 360 for the year 2006.

That's the interesting thing about opinionated contests: Someone will disagree.

Of course, it's not fair to leave them out because one person feels that way either. They've been out for two months, so many people have had a shot with them.

Personally, I think the 360 is the "best" console of this generation. But I feel that Nintendo is really taking a step in the right direction for pushing mainstream gaming to the next level. I'm more concerned about seeing new things in gaming rather than seeing good games.

Better yet, this thread should go away; what does an online poll (on another website, no less) have to do with anything?

Well they also made Virtual Boy, cancelled the 64DD, and stuck to cartridges with the N64.

That doesn't mean they didn't make good games. : D
