Our defence being bad and our defence being good has one common denominator... Bob Sanders. He didnt play most of the season because of injury, but hes the leader of this defence, with him back we cant be stopped. Manning played a good defence today and even though he didnt score a TD he drove 60 yards down the field each time to get Vinaterri in FG range. If Manning were to put up even 2 TD's in the following game/games then we are Super Bowl bound. The only thing i want is revenge... I want to knock the Patriots out of the fucking playoffs like they did to us sooo mannyyy timmesss. Im not scared of the Chargers anymore, they may get 14 points on our defence but we can get more.
We just beat the number 1 defence in the game. We wont have that low a score again. Also, we arent a 1-deminsional team anymore. We CAN run the ball and we proved it against the Ravens and Chiefs. Miami, here we come!
Go Colts!!

Happy for the colts right now. Plus, the ravens probably have one of the weakest fanbases in the NFL. Not talking about the diehards, but the bandwagon fans. Never seen so many raven fans pop up out of nowhere in my life.. actually... i did when they won in 2000.
Their fans are pussies, thats what im saying.

I voted for Ravens, but kind of figured Colts would. No td's by Manning though, all Vinatieri field goals.
And wtf is Stewart Scott talking about on espn, he said the divisional playoffs are good especially if your the home team. Dumbass Ravens were home and lost lol.

It's the playoffs, don't get your hopes up...the Pats aren't going to fuck around like KC and Baltimore. Unlike those teams, the Pats have a coach.

Is there a point to having this conference around?
Yes. So one can play the other for a Superbowl.
Mr. Heskey
02-04-2007, 11:07 PM
That's just as stupid as saying "Why does the eastern conference in the NBA exist because they suck?" or "Why does the national league in the MLB exist because they suck?"
Hockey is really the only sport where it's well rounded on either side.

Either that or his team lost in the AFC playoffs and he seeks redemption by saying his conference is better than the other one. It's the lamest of lame in sports.

Exactly, and i think in the next couple years we will see some nfc victories. The nfc will put up a good fight when teams like the saints, eagles, cowboys, and bears if they ever get a decent qb get there. Hell, maybe even teams like the falcons or the giants will become the best team. You never know

Sports always go through phases like this. The NFC has been pretty weak recently but they won the superbowl 13 straight years in the 80s-90s. Funny the NL and Eastern Conferences are weak but they each have that sport's current champion.

Peyton Manning is arguably the best QB of all time in terms of skills and preparation. This guy is the man. He's gonna end up like Dan Marino....BUT WITH A RING. If his career carries on for another 6 years and he can win at least one more ring, I'd put him in the top 5 for sure.

I wasn't really expecting a win but more hoping for one. Damn grossman cant hold on to the damn ball. 2 dropped snaps, 1 trip, 2 interceptions, I think they shuld have gave him the MVP trophy for winning the games for the colts.

Yes atleast for the games against Cheifs and Ravens they were lucky. Manning couldn't do anything in those first two games. They are lucky they figured out what to do on defense. Or the Cheifs would of blew them out. Same in the Ravens game, no touchdowns for Manning in that one. I think they got lucky atleast, that defense who did terrible most of the season with stopping the run. Then had to face one of the top rb's in the first playoff game. And shut him down. Not too many thought their defense would do that.

thats why football is a team sport. the qb plays poorly, the d steps it up. they won the superbowl because they played the best when it counted.
on another note, when manning was named mvp, he should've said, "Thanks, but this title really belongs to my buddy Rex, for his two interceptions, two fumbles, and falling down well behind the line of scrimmage twice. Thanks, buddy, you made this possible!"

You know, i wouldnt say doing something on your own is lucky. If the refs had made a bad call, or if a kick hit the cross bar and bounced in, that would be lucky.
1st of all, the defense didnt change, what changed was having bob sanders in and their mentality. If you That isnt luck, you dont get "lucky" holding LJ to 27 yards rushing and holding the cheifs to ZERO first downs in the 1st half. You dont get lucky that many plays in a row.
2nd, manning managed the game extremely well that game, especially towards the end of the game. The ravens were worn down and peyton KNEW, not through luck, KNEW, that the best way was to run down their throats. Then, he made some great throws for 1st downs to keep the drive going against one of the best defenses in the past 10 years.
And seriously, i tried to act like your post was somewhat intelligent by responding the way i did. Reread what you said.
Luck is having everything turn out great based on nothing that you personally did. Guessing on a multiple choice question where there are 10 options and getting it right... that is luck. Doing shitty on tests, then deciding to change and study, then getting a 95%, just because it wasnt expected, doesnt mean it was luck. Luck is when preparation meets opportunity.

Oh yea, im glad that we FINALLY won... I was with the Colts when we went 1-15 back in the 90's. Manning is well on his way to winning 2-3 more rings and now that we won I no longer have a grudge against the Pats. I think we can all be friends and sing a happy song... well lets not sing.
