Which version is better? I got a wii at launch and now im getting into gamecube games. Anyone have any recommendations?

that game will grab you by the balls and own you for days. have fun.

EDIT: challenge - try to finish the game with 1,000,000 or more pesetas, for a challlenge. then you can beat the minigame and unlock the tommy gun. it kicks ass.

dude, everyone knows sorny is superior, I mean come on, DVD, seperate video cards, small little blue light!, composite video, AC cord, stereo sound, COLOR! Motha fucking color games, zomg = ownage You could even buy a hard drive for a while, they stopped supporting it pretty quickly, but I think that's better, made mine more unike.

Oh, and they even made a pink ps2!!!! and I can't wait for PS3 to come out, it will be the bestzorss111!!!11elevnty1

Funny, I was trying to play Resident Evil 4 today and all my saved files were deleted......FUCK!!!

I played both versions and since the game was intended to be GC only the controls were optimized for GC. The only perk for PS2 is slightly better graphics and more unlockables, but not as enjoyable.

slightly better graphics on the PS2? LAWLZ at bullshit.

The PS2 version looks good compared to other PS2 games but not as good as the GC RE4.

Considering BOTH PS2 and GC are $20 and under, its all up to you.

I would buy the PS2 version for the mode, Seperate Ways, alone just cuz it ties in a lot of shit together with the RE universe. Let alone additional extras.

Also many sites put RE4 as the top 10 PS2 games of all time. It is a pretty damn good port.

haha sony? You mean the exploding laptop creators? aka failed to meet expectations compared to the wii which also kicked it's ass in sales aka voted a better system compared to ps3 and 360. Now if my computer which i built with my own money and labor is better than any crappy lap top sony has made as well as computer and lets toss in the ps3 cause u know that shitty station can't even play crysis :) does that make me the best manufacturer in the world now?

Sony failed to meet expectations and was as over rated and the 2006 buck eyes and as much as snakes on a plane.

Good choice, I'm a Sony supporter but the GC version definitely plays better and looks better. The only thing the PS2 version has is the Ada Wong mini game, Separate Ways, which ties the stories together. Theres also different special costumes on the PS2 version. If you find the PS2 version used at Blockbuster or on ebay real cheap, I suggest also getting it just for the extras.

It's a great game either way, and you really can't make a wrong choice picking the two.

They're both awesome, but the GC clearly wins in the graphics department.

BTW, PS2 owned, and I don't know think Sony will even come close to what it achieved with it.

Agreed. I liked and beat both versions already. While I like the Cube because the game was designed for it at first, and there are quicker loading times, and the controls. I'd have to say that the Icebreaker for me on the PS2 was the Separate Ways story. Even though it has additional weapons and costumes, it doesn't have much of an effect on the story.

Unlike the Assignment Ada game on the Cube, SW has a heavier focus on Ada's side of the story, like what she did in the game while Leon was rescuing Ashley. Example, when Leon is in the village fighting off the locals in the beginning of the game, did you ever wonder who rang the church bell which stopped the locals? Becuase I really did liked the Cube version and it's story, I picked up the PS2 version so I could see what else went on. Its about 8 hours more of extra chapters.

If you want to play the game just to kick ass and take names, by all means, buy the Cube version. Though if you like the story and want to explore every aspect possible, check out the PS2 for the Separate Ways missions after you beat it the first time. Either way, you have a winner of a game no matter which format you choose

My brother bought it and like I said in the other threads, the Wii is definitely not how Nintendo lead you to believe.

Oh, I also remembered another difference between the two:

Both the GC and PS2 versions are in Letterbox, but the PS2 version also has the option of Anamorphic Widescreen, which the GC version lacks.

Don't know if that matters to you....

Other than the obvious extras the PS2 version also had stronger weapons for example, all guns with exclusive

Blacktail - 3.4 power
Bolt Action Rifle - 18.0

PS2

Red 9 - 6.0 power
Blacktail - 4.5 power
Bolt Action Rifle - 30.0 power

That's why I liked the Ps2 version because spending money on a magnum is not needed with the BA Rifle but I hate the analog sticks and it's really hard to aim with the D Pad. I never got used to PS's analogs so I suck at aiming. I prefer the GC version but the extras are nice but the Special edition PS2 case kicks the red tins ass.

I can't tell which version I like better from these pictures (graphics-wise). The PS2 has that whole grainy, olden-days looking thing going for it, while the GC has the sharp and realistic images. I enjoy 'em both.
