Some girl at work got her licence today, bought a car (some shitty 1.3 Corsa) and wrecked it 2 hours later, by driving into a wall. I don't find it fair that I'm paying twice the insurance she does. Fucking women.

Actually, a new study just came out saying the men are more likely to get into accidents than women...
I blame all the stupid ass ricers for our high insurance costs.

The last time I heard women got into more "accidents", but not insurance claim ones, just scuffs and dents, etc where as men tend to go the whole hog and loose limbs so obviously gets actioned legally and wrote down in a big book of statistics.
It's not really a gauge of better or worse driving at all.
The other thing it comes down to is the fact as mentioned you get the kids trying to recreate scenes from F&F films, which is predominantly a man thing to be doing. Like I bet most horse riding accidents are had by women. Or gays. Hopefully the increase in gays will gradually lead to mens insurance dropping. Unless they bring out a faggots only insurance company whereby you get fucked up the ass every quarter to check you're still a nance.
I'm waffling.

I must agree, cause most girls who I know who got into a car accident were never a bad one, just scuffs, dents, minor traffic accidents, etc. I've seen and heard many guys who totaled their car/motorcycle and got hurt real bad.
NOW, how about them old people and their too awesome driving skills?

Eeekie kinda touched this part but I'd like to bring more light into it, isn't it a fact that men drive MORE than woman?
Usually arn't woman passengers and men the drivers?
I think someone should do a study that compares the amount of men that drive and the amount that actually have accidents and then do the same for woman, I am very confident that it will show that men have a much lower percent of accidents but woman have alot less drivers, so technically men have MORE crashes than woman, because there are less woman driving, kinda like how a comon flu kills more people yearly than anthrax, are we then to suggest that you have a better chance to survive a flu than anthrax?

My insurance is pretty damn low. I doubt that anyone my age is paying half of what I am.
$48/month.

Isn't that because there are more men drivers than women drivers?

I suppose stupid little accidents are more common with chicks, but they're also the most easily avoided with driving skill. If a dude writes off his car due to immense damage, well that just means he had some balls on him to do something so amazingly stupid. I'd still bet there are a hundred broken side mirrors on women's cars for every totalled man's car though. Women are too timid to try anything dangerous.

Watching a girl learn to drive a stick is hilarious. I was all laying down on my seat so other people wouldn't see my face on the co pilot seat.

I've always maintained that while dumb males may get into MORE accidents, dumb women tend to get in to sutpider ones.
I once saw a girl back over a corvette in her bright shiny new lifted 4x4.
Not back INTO, mind you, OVER. She hit the car, felt the bump, figured it was a curb, and continued right on up until the rear tire was completely on top of the hood and the bumper fucked up the windshield. For shit's sake, you're in the middle of the driving lane of the parking lot, and you thought it was a CURB? Must have been one hell of a curb.

Old people are just as bad. 40mph is the elderly speed of choice. They cruise along at 40 regardless of the speed limit, be it 30 or 60. I've genuinely lost count of the amount of old bastards who I've over-taken on the bypass...

i agree with everyone who says old people can't drive.
some old lady didn't even notice that she scraped and dented the rear quarter panel as she pulled out of her parking spot behind me... i told her she should sell her car to kill two birds with one stone: she'd be able to pay for damage, and she'd be off the road where she belongs.

I think it's because with age, it appears there seems to be a weaker grasp of ones surroundings. As i am free during the days now, i go to Costco sometimes. A Tuesday morning at the Costco parking lot is a harrowing experience. There's so many old people who are completely oblivious to anything and everything happening around them.

haha, I was doing a brake job for a lady at her house, and her 90 year old neighbor came home across the street. She pulled into her driveway, which had a long fence post on the corner near the lawn. Pulls in clean, no problems. Then she realizes her trash barrels are at the end of the driveway (trash man came and emptied them). Now her driveway was maybe 20 feet long, and her car already took up like 15 feet of it, so after the 6 minutes it took her to get out of the car, she climbs back in, turns her wheel for some reason, and starts backing up. She pulled in straight, but while she was pulling out, the wheel was turned so much that she smashed the pole, and did substantial damage to her rear bumper (she hit the pole multiple times trying to retrieve the trash cans).
So now she moves the car forward, back to the original spot, realizing she cant back out of her 3 car wide, 1 car deep driveway. Takes another 6 minutes to climb out. Glances at her bumper, like it happens every day. Walks down her driveway, moves her trash barrels literally 3 feet closer to her house, and walks into her house. I was laughing the whole time, but then I realized how scary it is knowing that she is out there operating a 4000lb+ piece of machinery out there while kids are crossing the streets and people are driving with new borns in their cars.
They should have a cutoff age for driving.

They should have a cutoff age for driving.
They should require people to retake the driving test every 2 years so it can weed out the retarded elderly people that goes 35 mph on the interstate.
If they can't pass a simple driving test, they have no right to drive and endanger other peoples lives.

Here in England you have to take a test when your 75 I think, maybe 80. But it's basically an eyesight and reactions test, not driving ability. Every 2 years is a little harsh, I mean, not much could change in your driving skill between the age of say 22-24. maybe every 15-20 years isn't a bad idea.

Ya you guys remember that 89-year old man who plowed through a flea market going like 65mph and killed 10 people and injured many more? His reason was his gas pedal got stuck under the carpet and didn't know how to stop the car.
Let's see....HOW ABOUT MOVE THE CARPET or even simpler, shut off the engine? That exact scenario happened to me in my old 89 Taurus, I stepped on the brakes and the car wasn't slowing down as fast as other times and I instantly checked the gas pedal and it was stuck under the carpet. I remember the old man was driving a early 90ish Pontiac Bonneville and those cars take at least 10 seconds to accelerate to 65mph if you floor it. So, this old man had at least 10 seconds to respond and he couldn't.

That's really crazy! Poeple need more common sense, when it comes to driving and being responsible.
I've been licensed to drive for over 1 year, and don't even have my own car yet. But I've been told to be a really good driver becuase I'm careful on the road, and don't talk on the cell phone while driving (which a lot of people do, which piss me off). Sometimes I'll drive my parent's car or my bf's mom's car, and have been really careful with them becuase they're not mine and I don't drive like a freak like some people do.
Now how many women (and men) can actually learn how to drive, and become really good in short time, pass the driving test in one try, and still progress to be a better driver?

The conclusion that I've reached about this subject is this; men and women are equally bad drivers, just for different reasons. Women wreck their cars because they're putting on makeup or because a beetle flies in the window or because they're airheads. Guys wreck because they try to see if their car's capable of drifting around a curve or because they drive drunk, three times over the legal limit because they think that it's a sure thing with the barskank they've picked up, if they can just get her back to the apartment. End of story.
