Stepmania is, of course, the Dance Dance Revolution clone that is regarded as being the best. It's a PC game, but a port has been made to the Xbox. I'm going to be getting a decent-quality dance pad, and that means moving operations to the living room. Unfortunately, I have a TV that has to deinterlace video, which adds delay. The short of it is that DDR on the PS2 is unplayable because of the added lag. That leaves the Xbox, which can do progressive video.
Anyway, I found myself drooling at the prospect of playing a version of Stepmania that had every song ever heard in a DDR game, including all of the old PS1 games, even the Disney one. There's something to be said for legitimacy. Naturally, the step files would have to be identical to the patterns in the actual DDR games.
This concept really seems, to me, to be something of a no-brainer. I'm sure some effort has been put into something like this. For all I know, there may be a full-blown release of Stepmania (ideally for the Xbox) that has all of this covered. That would be absolutely perfect.
Well, if anyone's heard of such a thing, I'd love to know about it. Thanks!
