just saw the flick...well worth the rental...Tom Hanks continues to amaze me with his diversity in the roles that he portrays...he plays an Irish hitman on the lam in this one...good stuff...but then again, when does a mobster movie ever fail to deliver......Godfather III excluded.

I bought Road to Perdition the day that it came out, and it is a very very good movie. Well worth the money spent on it!!!
There arent many out there that are good enough to say money well spent, at 20 bucks a pop!!

I'll probably buy it, good movie...plus gotta see the special features on the dvd...but, first buy is definitely Family Guy...then Hairy Pottey....then maybe Road....unless something less brain mattery comes out before then.

I wouldn't mind owning all of Tom Hank's movies. He is a very good actor. Even Cast Away was good, even though it didn't have any dialog.

I wouldn't mind if Kanism was mauled by a polar bear while he was grocery shopping.

As much as I hate to be contrary, I thought this was the most overblown movie I ever went to see. It was so slow and contrived. I couldn't wait for it to end. The acting is fine, but it couldn't overcome the plot. If I got it as a gift, I'd probably return it. But hey, that's just my opinion. Maybe I missed something that everyone else saw.

Bloody brilliant film. Cinematic bliss. I loved all the characters....they were all so well acted. I wrote a 6 page essay on this film for my english class....which got a top grade :D
The ending was awesome. I loved the final shootout...it was filmed so well!
I liked the contast between the light of the beach house at the end and the darkness of the gangster scene everywhere else. Its a clever film.
Favourite part:
John Rooney: There are only murderers in this room! Michael! Open your eyes! This is the life we chose, the life we lead. And there is only one guarantee: none of us will see heaven.
Michael Sullivan: Michael could.
John Rooney: Then do everything that you can to see that that happens.
Now THAT is a script.

"It is a known fact that every son was put on this earth to trouble their fathers..."
"Why are you always smiling?"
"Cos its all so fuckin hysterical..."
Great lines from a great script

I am a big Tom Hanks fan but I didn't really think all that much of this movie. I guess the subject matter didn't appeal to me all that much and I just found it a bit slow and dull.

Yah road to perdition is a great movie but depressing. Seen it like 6 times and it never gets old. Definetly a favorite

he plays an Irish hitman on the lam in this one...
Hehe I'll bet you read the digital cable review. I did! Yeah, this movie was really good. It really shocked me though. What I guess I loved the most about it was paul newman's performance. You could never tell if he was good or evil; if ya know what I mean. GILCHRIST!

hahaha my fave Paul Newman bit in the movie was when he confronts his son (Daniel Craig) after he has just done something very, very bad...
Paul Newman - "Curse you... Curse you!"
Daniel Craig - "Sorry Pa..."
PN - "You stupid, Stupid boy... I Curse You!! (Starts beating him) I CURSE... (BAM) THE FOCKIN... (BAM) DAY YOU WERE BORN!"
hehehe hes just so Irish in that scene...
