I do agree that NBA theme is amazing. I heard NBC is even trying to get the NBA back on though we all know they wont recapture the glory of the old days.
I think what the NBA should do is go back to NBC/TNT from the early 90's. No more of the ABC,please. ESPN really ruined the coverage of the games honestly.

i must've played this video dozens of times, to me the theme in the beggining and song and voice is more than what it literally is, i remember that my life was perfect at this time and after that something horrible happend, i just finished crying, i very rarely cry too. :)

Brings back memories. The Knicks vs. Bulls, Ewing vs. Jordan. I used to get so excited for those games. It was a great theme. Interestingly, it was composed by John Tesh.

You can still catch Marv on TNT with usually Kerr. I too miss the days of NBA on NBC. However, if they brought that song over to NBA on TNT, I'd be pretty damn happy.
GO Mavs as this is a NBA thread.

Those were great times, back when people watched basketball because they liked it; not because the ESPN family of networks shoved it down our throats. Marv is still great to hear.

Those were the god damn days. That music was so fucking awesome. You knew it was going to be a good game because of that music. Wow. I miss the good ol' days.
They better bring it back. They fucking better.

Nice, and here's a story on how Tesh made the song:

I just like watching basketball. I know ESPN sucks... but they allow one to be fed his need of basketball more often than any other station.

It's actually pretty weird, I live right outside Chicago yet I never really got into basketball until after their championships. Of course I rooted for the Bulls somewhat, as my whole family are big Bulls fans.
However, if you're saying saying I'm a fair weather fan, than no I'm not. I've been an avid Mavs fan since Dirk was a rookie(98-99 season). Since then, I've grown into quite a nut when it comes to Maverick's basketball. The fact that they are unbelievably amazing this year is not why I'm a fan. Remember though, I went through torture for the past 5 or 6 years when the Mavs would constantly get dominated by Sacramento and San Antonio.

Jeez, who doesn't love the Nba on Nbc? You, know, there used to be a time when I could sit done a Saturday and Sunday and look forward to anywhere from 4 to 6 good NBA games. The NBA on Tnt isn't bad, but its just not the same.
And i really don't think this is nostalgia talking either...

I remember watching the games... good times. Did anyone else have the video game on the Dreamcast? I loved that game.
NBA on TNT is still really good though. Barkley is the best.

Oh man, I remember playing that game in the arcade alot. It was alot like NBA Jam, but with better graphics.
H ave to agree that currently, the best NBA broadcasts are on TNT. Doug Collins, Steve Kerr and Reggie Miller are good commentators, and on occasion, will make you laugh. The stuff Charles Barkley says is priceless.
ESPN coverage is pretty good, just as long as they don't have Bill Walton or Tom Tolbery behind the mic. Some of the stuff they say sometimes can be really insightful, other times their comments make me want to punch newborns.
