Hey,
I just watched donnie darko for the 2nd time, and i still dont get some parts. Like was frank (the one he saw in his dreams), just a halucenation(pardon my spelling).. if so how did frank have the bullet wound in his eye in the theatre scence? so if some one thinks they understands this movie fully, it would be great to listen to your theories about this movie (which their are many)
Also i am a big fan of movies that make you think like donnie darko, so could you list a few good ones,
thanks for your time :)

I think there are like...3 topics about Donnie Darko on this page alone...
Anyway, you see the movie the way you want to. The basis of the movie is that Frank was a halucination (the therapist couldn't see him), telling Donnie that the world would end in 28 days, etc. Donnie learns all about time travel, and when the 28th day arrives, all kinds of weird shot goes on...an example being the plane flying into the tornado (the metalic object flying into the "wormhole", as Donnie's teacher explained), thus sending us back in time, to the night the part of the plane crashed through the ceiling and Frank wasn't around to save Donnie, which meant he ultimately ended up dying.

Try Memento and Fight Club, there are more, but I just think of em right now.

The Butterfly Effect might be something like it. Not completely though.

I personally didn't like donnie darko... and it didn't really make me think afterwards... well... I thought it was kinda dumb if that counts...
Memento,
Fight Club,
The Usual Suspects,
Sixth Sense,
Unbreakable,
Signs...
these are all movies that should be watched at least twice to really understand....
