View Full Version : Peyton or Tom? Who would you want?

Okay gang, Let's debate this... since:
Finally now with Peyton Manning having a Super Bowl ring and also Brady having his as well.but who is the better QB? I still take Brady as a pure QB over Manning. I'll take wins over stats even though Manning has shown he can win with others making plays. So Brady or Manning?
Brady has never had and will probably never have the top receivers that Manning has, so it's hard to gauge.
thoughts?

Peyton Manning. He's good, if you like a 6'5" 240-pound quarterback with a laser rocket arm.
But seriously, Brady. 3 rings > 1 ring

I don't like either team, but I would rather have Brady on my team.

Brady.. The colts won this year in the playoffs because of the defense. Manning was average, and brady was a bigger factor to his teams success then mannings.

Except peyton made the big throw when he had to in the end.
I think its really close, only reasons i say it is because i probably have always thought that, plus as of right now, peyton has learned to win consistantly in those ugly games. NE has been much more physical on Off/Def something the colts were not until this year. That mindset screwed the colts in the playoffs last 5 years because when they got knocked upside the head, they would crumble. Now is that partially peyton's fault? Ya, but peyton only plays 1 position and has enough to worry about.
Lets not also forget that over brady's career he has had lower passer ratings and more INTs in almost every year (i think).
This is no knock on brady.
As for the argument that brady can make anyone a star. I would have to agree, but dont short change peyton. Yes he did have marvin, but you saw the big throw to fletcher at the end of the NE game, or his throws to utecht, or clark, guys you normally dont hear about.
Now its going to be so hard to try to determine who is better i think. Both are at the top of their games physically and mentally, so it should be fun to watch them for a while.
I dunno, im kinda going back and forth, i think manning is the better QB. I think i base it mostly on the whole team.

Your all retarded! I much rather have Rex Grossman than either of those ball-dropping retards. Im going with Manning because hes the hottest atm, if brady were to play him now then Manning would win.

And how do you think Brady got 3 Super Bowl rings? He was able to ride the coat-tails of his superior defense and play calling, and his only role was to manage games. Over that time, Manning was asked to do a lot more with his team than Brady. Brady has the luxury of never facing a Bellichick offense, and that, while both quarterbacks are different styles, if Manning and Brady switched teams, I belive Manning would be more successful.

NEs coaching+defense+vinatierri won those 3 super bowls...brady contributed but its not like he fuckin carried his team to win it so the whole 3>1 rings thing is BS..

Yep, and Manning didn't win until his defense played at a championship level and he got a dominate running game.
I think you can win with Brady or Manning, it just depends which one has the better team around him.
If I were to pick based on talent though, I would say Manning.

Manning easily. Brady had an awesome defense and the best clutch kicker of all time. This was the first year Manning had that on his side.
Brady is a hall of famer obviously but Manning does more for his offense and is definitely the better individual player.

If I had to choose one to build an offense around. it would be Manning...
Not only is he one of the best QBs of all time already, Brady is a CUNT!!

In this era of the salary cap...I gotta go with Brady. I'm glad and surprised that the Colts were finally able to do it, but gimme a guy that can play the game well and I don't have to spend all of my money on and I'll take him every time.

Please he has tons of motivation. With a girl like Giselle Buchenden or whatever her name is waiting at home for him. How can you not?

I'll take the guy with more M.V.P. awards. Rings are a team thing if you didn't notice. Lets not forget 7 Pro Bowls and the most recent superbowl win and those stats that mean absolutely nothing. Admit it you just think Brady is hot like my sister you fags.

Lol. You're funny. Brady and Manning, to me, are pretty much equal right now. Could argue for or against either one but to say the Manning won because of only his defense and Brady was a bigger factor in his success is laughable. The Pat's D was the reason why they won their SB's. Yea Brady is great and HOF'er but his Pats team have always had one of the top defensive teams everyone year and the biggest factor for the Pats during their runs these past 6 years was, no doubt, Adam Vinateri. So to give all the credit to Brady while forgetting the D that got them to the playoffs and SB every year is plain stupid. Brady is great but he's a "game manager" and not a "game changer". The Pats D, their coach, and their kicker was what gave the their rings. Brady had a smaller part in winning the SB than the 3 qualities of the Pats I just listed.

peyton can make plays better, and throws better, but Tom doesnt get raddled or distracted, keeps his mind clear, doesnt let the pressure get to him, that kind of thing.

I'd decided based on my team's setup.
Brady's a better end-quarter clutch QB to drive those extra yards; while P's more of a: I need to move the ball 20yrds > Execute type QB.
Honestly, I think they're dead even in terms of skill, where their different styles level the good & bad. Both QBs would be ideal for any team! :)

Did you even watch the colts defense play this year? They completely shut down the ravens, chiefs, and they basically shut down the bears. Ya they played one bad game, against brady, but they were still dominant. And wasnt manning the one who in his first 2 games had 1 touchdown and 5 picks? If brady did that his team would have no chance. Not to mention manning had one good year in his career in the playoffs, brady had 3. Brady always did have a good defense, but this year manning had a good defense, and 2 great recievers, opposed to brady who has never had recievers close to as good as mannings. If he does it 3 times ill put him with brady, but until then, with the type of talent he has on offense and with a good defense in the playoffs, he isnt brady.

Well, that's all fine and good but he ain't getting Peyton money, that's for sure. And I was limited to these two guys, so I went with the cheaper one. But a lot can be said for my point, other then this year of course. When the Patriots were so good was when Brady was a surprise to people, before he was getting all that loot. You've gotta find that right guy, who's good enough to run your offense and be productive but simple enough to not take a huge chunk out of your cap room.

Manning is better, yes Brady has 3 superbowl rings but he didn't win those games the kicker did, Plus when Tom had the best offense 2 yrs ago he couldn't even win the super bowl.
Peyton also doesn't have a coach that cheats. Oh and I pick Peyton Manning.

There is no doubt in my mind, and there should be no doubt in everyone's mind that Peyton Manning is a better quarterback.
Tom Brady is overrated and was only considered an elite quarterback when the best WR is the league came to his team(randy moss), along with Wes Welker. There were so many terrible throws that he made that Randy Moss caught. Tom Brady's line was also ridiculous giving him all of the time he could ever want to throw a ball. It was like playing park football, and I don't know about you, but if I had all the time in the world I would complete a buttload of passes.
Peyton Manning is smarter, more athletic and doesn't have the amount of help that Tom Brady does.

I'd pick Philip Rivers over those 2 any day. Tom Brady is only as good as his line... which is amazing, so when the Patriots O-line collapsed at the Super Bowl so did Brady. Manning also had a very good line and has always had a ton of weapons, Addai, Harrison, Wayne, and Clark, it'd be hard for him not to do good. I would pick Kurt Warner over them too but his balls have ugly spirals half the time.

No the Pats Defense lost that game. They had manning sacked but manning somehow escaped to make a B.S. throw and catch.

Did you miss the bit where he suggested that Philip Rivers and Kurt Warner are better than Manning and Brady?
